I'm like a couple of other people here, needing a new cpu, mobo and ram. Additional complications are that I'm waiting on the 6 core, 12 thread version because of price reasons. So cheap I am.
Hoping those 6/12 cpu's come out soon, that I can actually afford them, and that they are awesome. Here's hoping. Otherwise I might have to take a punt on a 8/16 cpu, and...money. Oh well.
(edit) I too await the return of decent AMD cpu's. I've been using an 8320 and more recently an 8350, and they really struggle with certain games like some recent Feral ports (Shadow of Mordor, XCOM2, etc). Hoping these new processors help straighten things out.

The Wild Eight is another game funded by Kickstarter that decided to delay the promised Linux version

I'd like to chime in. After being burned by Kingdom Come: Deliverance and The Mandate, I'd be really hesitant about touching anything from Kickstarter. Getting a cheaper price isn't quite the same as buying a product you can have some certainty about. Delayed for years and not supporting the platform you use is not good enough. And here is another dev saying "can't be arsed supporting linux. Too hard".

Eugh...I'm getting a refund asap and just forgetting about this game. Far too late, far too complicated a development history (I think) and far too ambiguous about the linux version. Which was the reason I backed it initially. I'll keep an eye on it and at least see if it comes out for linux, but I fear it won't be for awhile.

Quoting: Mountain ManI'm a little confused: Is this one game with two expansions, or three stand-alone games? And if the latter is the case then which one should I get? I should point out that I don't really give a crap about the story, I only care about which version has the most features.Pretty sure DOW Retribution is the one you want as far as features go. Has the most races and whatnot.

Anyone have any idea how to install and run mods with this version? I know I have to use -modname EXAMPLE, but the directory structure is different to the windows version and I'm not sure where to stick the mod. The mod in question is the Retribution community patch. DoW2RCP is the folder name.

Unfortunate about the cross-platform issues, but still looks really good. I'm eyeing off some space marine specific dlc (I already have the Dark Angels pack) and look forward to getting back into Retribution and Chaos Rising.
Does the original DOW2 have anything worthwhile if I already have the latter two games?

I liked the look of the trailer, so I'm kinda excited to see this come to linux, looks like fun. I know $15 usd isn't that much, but it's still making me have second thoughts about it though. Stupid exchange rate.

Regrettably, I get a "missing executable" error when trying to run the game, and when checking in a file manager there are no actual files there aside from the dlc packages, which is weird.
Looks like Shadow of Mordor has bad graphical bugs with Nvidia 364.12

I'd like to add for anyone still following this, that
"force_glsl_extensions_warn=true MESA_EXTENSION_OVERRIDE=GL_ARB_arrays_of_arrays __GL_ShaderPortabilityWarnings=0 %command%"
in the steam launch options box works for me, but
"__GL_ShaderPortabilityWarnings=0 %command%"
unfortunately did not.
Anyone know if Feral are any closer to an official patch? It's been awhile.

Quoting: mr-eggi wouldn't be too surprised if only Intel CPU's were tested. It seems AMD CPU owners are becoming forgotten about with some Devs. Can't wait for AMD to release their new CPU's/APU'sI was thinking about a cpu upgrade soon. Trouble is I'm constrained by cost and current platform to go with AMD, so I'm not sure it'll change much even if I go for a 9590 cpu.
