Quoting: scaineInvestors.I think now's probably a good time to remind people of the Phantom console and the Gametrac/Gizmondo handheld. (For anyone who doesn't remember them, they were infamous investor-scams.)
Quoting: scaineAs for "NFT haters", I think you mean "normal people". Nothing wrong with blockchain per se, but it's most commonly associated with burning the planet via proof of work, and it'll take a long time to shift perception on that.I think it's quite fair to describe it as a solution looking for a problem, really.

Ah, Konami, I love you but you sure are weird - why was this not a Castlevania collab?!
Still, uh, does that mean we're one step closer to Bomberman Survivors now?

The one I've had the hardest time coming to terms with is GIF - I used to sound it out with a hard "G", but it turns out the official intended pronunciation was "Jiff".

Quoting: kuhpunktJust a random question. How do you guys pronounce TR1X when you read/say it? Tee Are One Axe? Tricks?"Tee Are One Ex", for me. Now I'm wondering what the intent for it is, though.
Quoting: dibzI also pronounce GUI "Gee You Ai" because while Gooey is a word, GUI is not. Like, would someone say Oohsah/Ussah instead of the letters for USA? No, because that'd be dumb. This!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI've been known to, but only because it's dumb.I think I've only ever seen it done as a joke in a cartoon. Specifically, I believe it was in one episode of Dexter's Laboratory, where Dexter's somewhat-dense sister Dee Dee reads out their address on an envelope and sounds out "USA" as "Oosah". I remember finding that hilarious, since I have a relative who used to sound out "UK" as "Uck" for comedic effect in a similar way, at around the same time the show was current.

But going by how they seem to be using sticks with barely any room to move in this image (and not, as it looked like on first glance, sliders like the excellent Circle Pad on the Nintendo 3DS*), I'd say that this render was made by folks who probably don't know a whole lot about gaming. The rest of the info, with all the gumph about blockchain and Web 3.0 and so on, appears to back up that viewpoint, too.
*Something like that would be most welcome on a properly pocket-sized device, clamshell or not. The Circle Pad worked so incredibly well, and I miss it.

Those sticks and d-pad look rather terrible don't think? Why is it so flat? That does not look comfortable to game with. That d-pad is even flatter than the one on the Game Boy Advance SP, which was super-flat by necessity due to the console's clamshell design, and I really didn't get on well with it.

Quoting: Vortex_Acherontic... the amount of PCs which where ripped out of the office was stellar maybe like 30 PCs just from our department. Considering companies try to keep costs low it seemed not be the an issue to trash alls those still wonderfully working systems.Argh, that makes me cringe! There are so many good uses that those perfectly-good machines could be put to!

Quoting: Purple Library Guy"Metal Slug 4" . . . OK, why were there four games about a slug made of metal? I guess it's a sort of interesting superhero concept, like Earthworm Jim, but four games?
