Quoting: shadow1w2Sure could emulate them great but an official resource is good, especially when they don't toss out an odd version or two.I'm hoping that they'll be using the official retranslations for the MSX titles, since they've included them as bonuses in some previous releases as well, and the original official English version of the first MSX Metal Gear was apparently missing a lot of the script.

At any rate, it seems that this might be why this version doesn't tend to get mentioned anymore, and has never been used as the basis for any re-releases or collections.
Disclaimer: Not a legal expert, this is simply as far as I know.

Quoting: BelaptirThey could have used the GC version of MGS1 (The twin snakes) as a base.If I'm not mistaken, Konami doesn't fully own the rights to that particular Metal Gear Solid remake - because it was a paid-for GameCube exclusive which also contained Nintendo cameo content, it's part-owned by Nintendo. It also occasionally floats around that possibly bits of it might also be with the developer, Silicon Knights.

Quoting: spacemonkeyI would like to play MGS1 on a very low resolution with pixelated textures as it was on the PSX. I prefer that style over the more smooth graphics of the PC version. You're not the only one! After all, its comic-bookish visuals were designed around the target hardware and resolution. I always felt it looked weird when smoothed out, too.

I'm excited too! But mainly for the extras, I must admit (I loved Metal Gear Solid, but its follow-ups were never of interest to me) - it's always nice to see the MSX games get some more spotlight, and the included digital graphic-novel and guides look good, too.

This is the one that was forked from 351ELEC, right? That was the best custom firmware by far for the Anbernic RG351MP, so I can easily see it becoming the go-to for getting started with emulation on Linux, going forward.

Family friendly too, so perhaps a nice shoot 'em up for a slightly younger audience who are interested in gaming. Not everything is about those of us with greying hair huh? It's just as much for us folks with greying hair! Family-friendly means all-ages, after all, not just "for kids" - some of us just want cute games, damnit!
One for retro fans too, looks like something that could have fit right at home on the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. It puts me very much in mind of cute-'em-ups on the PC Engine, particularly Star Parodier [External Link] (a game that I would highly recommend), and I've loved the sub-genre ever since I played Fantasy Zone Gear [External Link] as a kid (also highly recommended), so I absolutely want it. Wishlisted!
