Just looked at the code the first time.. it's written completely in TypeScript? Wow...

I still consider applications written in JS mostly unreadable or very bad readable.

Things like this freak me out, it's so bad to read:

export default function reducer <State> (
initialState: State,
cb: IActionHandlerCallback<State>): Reducer<State, State> {
const actionReducers: IActionReducers<State> = {};

cb(<Payload> (actionCreator: IActionCreator<Payload>, reducer: IActionReducer<State, Payload>) => {
const sampleAction = actionCreator({} as any);
if (actionReducers[sampleAction.type]) {
throw new Error(`reducing same action type twice: ${sampleAction.type}`);
}

actionReducers[sampleAction.type] = reducer;
});

Yeah, thanks Liam :-) ...
That was really annoying to read the past days.

Thanks for listening!

Due to my old rig had given up (RiP my Alienware X51 R1(!!) <sniff>, I will miss it), I recently was looking for a fast-buy low-budget gaming PC - christmas is coming, and I currently ain't got the cash to spend for a really good rig at the moment (the PC was at 600, which is not too bad). Got myself one with a FX4-4350 @ 4x4.4 ghz, with a 1050 Ti graphics card.

While it should not, it outperforms my former i7-2600k (~ the same release date as the i7-2600k) with nvidia 980 (ye, I upgraded the graphics card in the X51) by .. quite a lot. That surprised me. May be due to it running at 4.4 ghz at a core, not 3.4 as the i7 was.

And it's not even fully optimized according to one of the engine devs.

I have issues with my NVidia 1050 Ti though... maybe a too new piece of Hardware :D.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance may not come to Linux at all, more bad news

Quoting: edomakes sense, they have to focus first on the quality
First of all they shouldn't have sold the IPs for very good games as FarCry which they could have made a sequel of. Don't even want to know what FarCry by now has played into the cash boxes of Ubisoft.

Secondly, the full bet on free-to-play titles was a unnecessary high risk they took in combination with the fast expansion of the company. If they don't shut down, they'll have to resize considerably and sell some studios.

700 people with the last "okay" title released being Ryse in 2013 which was paid by Microsoft and Crysis 3 paid by EA is nothing a company can take on the long run.

Holy, this won't help. And it explains a lot, especially for people moving from CryTek to Star Citizen - who have a full license and have their own version of the CryEngine (and are based in Frankfurt with one of their offices).

It won't really help us for quite some games if the linux talent leaves CryTek - which is very likely), and if the company goes bankrupt.

That said. All the best to the developers / staff / talent of CryTek. I can understand that people are leaving when being unpaid, especially when there are other jobs to get in the industry.

Quoting: meggermanI ended up using fglrx to stop this bug previously but the flip side of that was tearing and stuttering performance :'(

Ridiculous bug imo, probably made a lot of people mad and switch to Nvidia. Another game affected by this was Brutal Legends. This bug was imo a big contributing factor in the "AMD drivers suck on Linux" effect.

9 years.
Actually, I had this kind of lock up with nouveau in KDE/KWin. Gotta' try again if this still happens after the patch.

went bananas.

This was one of the last games I funded with Kickstarter. I won't go for a refund though yet. They still try. If they're going bankrupt on that title, well, my fault. If they don't and give a definitive statement on not at all releasing on Linux I'll go for the refund.

The developers of 'EVERSPACE' are still working on the Linux version, seeking help from Epic Games

Ahm, that m ust be some huge mistake on one of the two sides. That's very basic stuff. But if rendering flat or transitioned on two frameworks with the same settings, it's very likely on the epic side to solve.

But that's such basic stuff you will be using not just once in a game that makes me wonder why it wasn't recognized before. Or I'm misinformed about targets, but there are a few developers using it for 1y+.

Still good it gets recognized. And seems like they're really working on a port / trying one, otherwhise they wouldn't see those issues.

Good to make them public too. I can perfectly well live with the developer having issues with an engine - at least I know where the issues are. That kind of communication actually makes me very happy.
