I will prepare a one-handed Steam Deck controller configuration for this title as my gift to the community.
Valve ban advertising-based business models on Steam, no forced adverts like in mobile games

An alternate reality has Valve explicitly permitting paid ads inside video games, and ten years from now the worst of in-game advertising in mobile games will have fully invaded all PC games, with old games updated to include ads between levels or ads between zoning.
So goes Steam, so goes PC gaming trends. My cynical side says Tim Sweeney would play the contrarian and permit mobile game-style in-game ads on EGS, but I don't think he would really support that .

A couple more years and our Decks will be quite long in the tooth given that many AAA releases lately are sub-30fps on our handhelds. It still doesn't stop be from playing them, I find Rebirth totally playable and agree with the Verified status on that title. But those frame times Liam got in MHW are horrendous, just forget it, that's only a bad time.
Going forward the thing to remember about our Decks is they continue to play everything pre-2021 quite beautifully, and that was Valves goal from the beginning: grant us access to our library and backlogs in a handheld format. And it's been great!

Still waiting for stable channel steam client to get HDR streaming to my OLED Deck from my SDR PC. It works PC-PC but not PC-Deck.
What Valve would need to do to make a Steam Console a success

My ideas:
Restrict the console's store page to Verified games only, with a toggle in the Settings menu to unlock the rest. That would ensure the average player gets a solid experience right out of the gate.
Use a NUC form factor (8"x8"X4"), flip the mobo upside down and have a large 140mm fan exhaust downwards through vent holes, and make the top just solid metal or plastic to prevent spills. Usb on the front.
Ship with a controller with a wifi dongle, Bluetooth is too laggy.
What to do about anti-cheat titles? They're a huge, and expected draw. And non-Steam games? Expecting the masses to install Heroic Launcher and add games to steam, then deal with game art, then deal with controller configs is a very tall order.
Liam is right: without anti-cheat being solved, it's practically a no-go.

Valve now warns on Steam pages if an Early Access game hasn't been updated in a long time

Updates need to be made to the store page. Updating via discord or twitter are not acceptable sole options. Optionally, sure!
I'm still waiting on Minihealer to receive an update but it's been 20 months. I've held off buying for over a year now. Early Access is disappointing sometimes...

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH gets stability fixes and a Steam Deck graphics setting tweak

I was hoping for a proton patch to make the game exit cleanly because right now my game tends to hang for minutes after exiting.
Also, it needs to be said that Valve don't promise a level of performance with their verified rating. All they do promise is accurate controller glyphs, legible text, and seamlessness of launch.
Rebirth plays around 30fps on my OLED Deck, with a blend of settings. I don't recommend all Low, but do set character model to High and textures to Medium. I like TAAU and 100%/66%, but 66%/66% yields more consistent 30, and up to 45 in some scenes.

GreenManGaming has keys at 43% off, better than the 30% discount on Steam. I'm excited for playing on my Deck, and for streaming from my PC.
This may be my sole game purchase in 2025, barring GTA VI releasing this year (it'll be delayed).

I quite liked the demo, it hit all my C&C cravings. It feels like a blend of Red Alert and Tiberian Sun.
I wonder if another dev might decide to make a StarCraft knock off next, I'd be down for that as well.
