Since the Frame and Controller are pretty much exactly what I was hoping for, for the past few hours I've mostly been thinking about the Steam Machine and the concept and implications of the set as a whole (including the Deck and my own Gaming Rig).
If it all works as well as it could and should, it does not feel like the future. It feels more like the present, finally delivered.
I like that.

If I end up buying the Steam Machine, my very first step after booting will be changing the startup video to this:

I first heard about this game one or two month ago and it all sounds almost too good to be true
I really hope for a steam release!

@Purple Library Guy: I know about that one too, but never had the privilege to play it. If I'm not mistaken, its a lot older than even the first Civilization computer game and might very well be where Sid Meier got his inspiration from.
The point system actually sounds like a very good fit for this kind of game.

The newer one ( https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/233247/civilization-a-new-dawn [External Link] ) is a lot more streamlined and has one of the best turn/action-mechanics I've ever encountered in a boardgame.

The best (and admittedly only) board game based on a computer game I played so far is Dorfromantik.Dorfromantik is certainly really good. I can also recommend the last two iterations of the Civilization boardgame. The older one ( https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/77130/sid-meiers-civilization-the-board-game [External Link] ) of the two is a bit convoluted and needs a few selfmade-rules to lower the luck-factor, but if you like 5-hour-long game sessions with high complexity where you can hear the gears turning in every players brain, its a really great game.

We can say "It's time, Valve". But, is it Valve Time?Well... since the perfect time to release the controller was over three years ago alongside the Steam Deck, I'd say: YES, its certainly Valve Time.

News article: "Re-enabled experimental wake-on-bluetooth support for Steam Deck LCD."
My brain: "...in preparation for the upcoming Steam Controller 2 release"
Its time, Valve. It is time...

@Brokatt: Well, on the plus side, at least I learned quite a bit about Linux right from the start this way ^^ The biggest factor in all this always was the fear of having to go back to Windows if things don´t work out. I don´t expect or need EVERYTHING to run smoothly from the start, but there is a certain amount of stuff that just has to work with no or little effort for me to feel "at home" at a OS. Since I switched to X11 I feel pretty comfortable and I love how much you can actually make Linux your home compared to Windows.
