I remember having to do intense internet research in order to find a trustworthy seller to get the first GPD Win shipped from China to Germany. Now its pretty much raining devices like this everywhere you look. Great times!

This one looks a bit like the Steam Decks ugly brother, but to me its more important how it feels and performs. I appreciate the two trackpads, but going FullHD is still a bad descision on these devices IMHO. 800p is perfect with the current hardware.

Steam Families announced with parental controls, no more library locking

Thanks, scaine. I looked through the FAQ. It doesnt get mentioned specificly if the actual owner has special control, but you´re probably right and its treated more like a license-pool for the group. I´d actually prefer if the owning account always had priority. Not the biggest issue I guess, but it might get problematic with suspended games on Steam Deck.

Sounds great, especialy the parental controls! I´m gonna wait for the stable release, but there are two things I´m wondering right now:

If I´m the owner of the game, can other accounts kick me out by starting the same game, or does the owner always have priority?

Can I start a child´s account with all games banned and then choose to make specific games available? It sounds like it works the other way around and that could be quite painfull with >4,5k games in my library...

Ive mostly been playing Assassins Creed Valhalla and BalasticNG.

...and I´m really blown away by how awesome BNG is. I´ve been unsure about the game mostly for its graphics... even though I´m a fan of retro gaming, pixel art etc., I dont have any nostalgia for PS1-Era 3D graphics. But it turns out the graphics bothered me for exactly five seconds.

Quoting: elmapulthe bad news is the rate of growth of this list vs steam game list...
sure there are a bunch of shovelware on steam but still... the % of compatible games tend to reduce over time.
The percentage of unrated games will propably keep growing against the number of verified/playable games, thats right, but I wouldn´t use the word "compatible", because most of the unrated games are already running perfectly fine and even a huge chunk of the unsupported games can be played with little-to-no effort or drawbacks.

Looks lovely, but I hope they´re gonna fix that running-animation. Seems like a weird thing to focus on, but somehow it annoys the hell out of me already even in this short video

Quoting: slaapliedjeFriend of mine has recently asked me what I think the greatest CRPG ever made was. I said Ultima IV.
I remember playing Ultima IV on C64 and having my brother explain to me, that those bright-green blobs everywhere are NOT poison-swamps as I imagined, but trees and woods. Suddenly it was a whole new world. Good times
