Quoting: liamdaweYou misunderstood my question, I know there is the change in SteamDB but since it doesn't show up here [External Link] unless you are looking for it you are not going to find it. I'm impressed that you reported on the news quite fast despite that.Quoting: NyamiouIt doesn't show up in SteamDB hints, how did you manage to spot that one?https://steamdb.info/app/407810/history/?changeid=2004574 [External Link]
Next month marks seven years of me running GamingOnLinux, how should we celebrate?

The most people of the community in-game as possible would be awesome. Maybe we could try to invade a MMORPG like WAKFU or Ryzom, what do you think?
Everyone sharing a screenshot of them playing their favourite game on Linux (playing on a window so we can notice it's Linux), if there is enough submissions that could be really cool as well (we would need a new module in the website to show the screenshot).
Having a live interview of Gabe Newell.

Steam Machines are dead in the water according to Ars, not quite

I hope we will not see lot of articles on the Web brainlessly copying the Ars Technica article like with the last one (with badly made benchmarks), because I think those numbers are actually encouraging (given the bad press and the lack of marketing and that it's actually hard to buy them outside the US and UK) and that Ars Technica are either assholes or idiots or both.
Is Ars Technica deliberatly trying to kill the Steam Machines, I don't know what they can win by doing that, but it certainly looks that way.

They've fixed WINE support! So they do care about us.

Quoting: HoriRemember the days when Steam itself wasn't availabile on Linux? How was the community coping with the lack of games back then and why is it complaining about delayed ports now? I think we've got soooo over ourselves since Valve started investing in Linux, and that's not good, not good at all. There was no Linux gaming back then, it wasn't even a dream. But that doesn't mean we can accept to go back there, we have fought to get where we are now and we will fight to get where we should be, nothing is going to stand on our way. Waiting patiently for devs to notice us is not going to cut it, if we don't ask for a port it's not going to happen, and if we don't complain when it's not in time they are just going to forget about us. Maybe one day it will be easier, but for now this how things are.

Quoting: darkszlufNo but I can blame them for "Upcoming order: SteamOS -> Mac -> XB1" (https://twitter.com/RocketLeague/status/678008035684564993)Quoting: NyamiouThey've broken WINE support, you can't even play this game on WINE anymorecross platform play with xboxone was added with the last update, you can't really blame them that the game doesn't work with wine anymore.

You're missing the most funny part of it all :
[...]
They've broken WINE support, you can't even play this game on WINE anymore (no matter which version of WINE) : https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40680 [External Link]
Isn't it funny? I think Psyonix is laughing right now.

User Editorial: A different approach to calculating the popularity of Linux gaming on Steam

The number of Linux users doesn't matter, what matters is how much money they have in their pockets and how much money they are willing to spend. There is a lot of Steam users that only play one game, and often it's a free to play game, those guys don't matter much. The reasons we get so many games right now is that in terms of money spend on new games (especially outside of the blockbusters) we are more close to 5% than 1% and porting to Linux have become less expensive and easier.

Comparing results over 100 FPS doesn't make sense. People don't realize that you could optimize a game forever and maybe make it run on a potato, but it's not the point. When the game run with decent FPS on recent hardware you have to stop there or else you are losing money. I don't say they shouldn't continue to optimize the game (if there is FPS drops they should definitely do something about it), I say they shouldn't have to obtain the same level of performance of the Windows version that was released two years ago.
