The Humble Botanicula Bundle

The most important thing to mention about this one is that they're supporting The World Land Trust organisation.
Basically they said that for every 160$ contributed to the cause they will be able to preserve an acre of rainforests.

So not as interested in this one for the games, but I am into the whole ecology thing. :D

Cheese talks - Humble Bundle

Quoting: "liamdawe, post: 4039, member: 1"So what do you all think of the HIB's nowadays, have your views on them changed? Have your purchasing habits changed since the sudden flow of games being ported?
A rough translation of a Serbian street-saying: "Money isn't a problem; can't be when we have none"
So to answer the latter question: I still buy only when I have something to spend, and I will spend on what I believe I will be playing. Doesn't mean I wouldn't support a developer's game in some other way; like promoting, providing feedback or whatever. It only means I can't be expected to buy ever single one of em, especially those pricier ones. That would be just silly, and would encourage them to be lazy imo, knowing that something will sell just because it has a Linux port.

As for the HIBs, I'm honestly a bit worried. The diversity of the included genres seems to have diminished since Android got involved. When talking specifically about Linux, there has been some talk about developers not updating their games in the store, but I haven't researched enough to confirm this. However, taking into account that so many of them haven't responded to the constant asking for Desura keys even though their games are already there, and yet they still provide Steam keys, then it's understandable why I'm so sceptical. It was a good start, yet where it's heading... I just don't know... :(

Mozilla launches BrowserQuest
30 Mar 2012 at 8:15 am UTC

The only thing I'm missing about this new tech so far is that there's no right-click function. Flash had this same problem.
Also what puzzles me mostly is the fact that it runs faster on Chrome than on Firefox. Strange...

Tiberium Alliances open beta
25 Mar 2012 at 9:34 pm UTC

I don't know. I like the CnC universe (at least up till Tiberium Wars) but this seems like just another browser game which usually end up boring due to too time consuming micromanagement. I'll give it some more attention to see where it's at...

I guess we made enough of an uproar for them to notice us. I should know - was part of it. ;)

An interview about "Ensign-1"

If he was to tell you that then he'd have to hire you! Run!
Anyway, additional information can be included if the interview participants agree to share.

Mari0! A SMB and Portal Combintation!

:D <- Enough said.
Seriously though, it's a very interesting upgrade on the old platformer. I only regret that they didn't make an entirely new game out of this.

Wakfu MMORPG from Square Enix Launched today
2 Mar 2012 at 9:34 pm UTC

Well I can't really get into it - keeps crashing upon loading every time, reporting a Java error...
Funny thing is: I reported this to them back while the game was in beta and still nobody answered the ticket.

Any ideas which lines to change in the launching script to try and use OpenJDK instead of Sun's?
