Source Engine 2, Steam Link And More Announced At GDC

So does this Steam Link run SteamOS too?
Source Engine 2 is pretty exciting really, means we could get some kind of sequel from Valve or even a completely new game. Personally, I'd hope for either Portal 3 or something new that isn't multiplayer.

I wish they would stop including SSDs in these Steam Machines. Although SSDs are nice, if they want to compete head-to-head with consoles then needlessly adding an extra £50-100 on a hard drive seems completely ridiculous and will probably push the price past that of the PS4 and Xbone.
The GTX level discreet graphics card suggests a 750, which is probably the best choice for these at the moment and what I expected them to use. More reason why the SSD is ridiculous though if it's going to cost around the same as the graphics card (or more).

Just Cause 2 was very, very good so high hopes for this.
Kind of wish they'd kept Mel Gibson as the protagonist and called the game "Mad Mel" though. Can just envision a simulator game in which an up-and-coming actor plays increasingly insane characters until he is typecast as a nutcase and becomes insane himself, pisses off all of hollywood then becomes an anti-semitic alcoholic who can only get work in films where he talks to his own hand. You get points for each group of people you offend and alienate and then lose points for blinking and making good films.
I'd play that.

I really need to play the first Shadowrun game still, it's been sitting in my library for ages now. The games look really great, so hopefully I will have played the other two before this one is released.

There is NO CONTROLLER SUPPORT for the Linux version and Team17 said they have no plans to add it. I always give Linux devs the benefit of the doubt, but I asked for my money back.
There's no way I'm playing worms on a kb, I've always played it with a controller and the fact that they didn't clarify that there was no support before hand and gave no reason as to why it doesn't have it really pissed me off big time.

Quoting: NyamiouOn the third question, you should make it so that the "Yes" answer is at the bottom, because the "I don't have a Windows partition" and "No" are similar answer so it would be better if this was easier to add up those two. Also on question 8, between the different kind of CPU the colors are not always for the same thing (like green is sometimes for proprietary drivers and sometimes for open source drivers) that make it harder to instantly see the differences between the graphs.I'll pass on the suggestions to fedso, he's the graph guy :)

I can vouch for KDE, I've used it ever since Unity replaced Gnome 2 in Ubuntu. Plasma 5 also looks very good so going to upgrade to that soon. For gaming I use XFCE though since I prefer to free up resources for games and I find LXDE a bit too ugly for now.
Quoting: zimplex1As for Dying Light... I just can't play yet ANOTHER zombie game. The only interesting zombie game to me is project zomboid but that's because it's super challenging and more survival focused.I have to agree with you. As Yahzee put it, "releasing a zombie game is like giving a present wrapped in McDonald's cheeseburger paper - you don't need to look inside to know they're not really trying". That said, Dying Light is a pretty fun game and once they fix it I'll probably put quite a few hours into it. It's kind of like going to see a summer blockbuster, you know what you're getting and it's certainly not high art, but you can still get a good few hours of enjoyment out of it.

Connecting to an online game using Quick Match also worked without issue! Apparently I suck too.Worth noting as well that online play is now cross-platform, meaning you can play with OSX and "PC" (troll) players as well. That was the major thing lacking from the last one they ported which a lot of people complained about.
