H-Craft Championship Free & Open Source Racer New Version
11 Mar 2015 at 8:34 am UTC

I was hoping to try it today, but the game did not launch.
When trying to launch from console I get this :
./hcraft_bin: 4: ./hcraft_bin: Syntax error: " ) " unexpected

Anyone has an idea ? Or did anyone get this error too ? I have tried to contact them, so I'll let you know if they give me an answer.

Spiritual Successor To Ultima Underworld, Underworld Ascendant, Now On Kickstarter
5 Feb 2015 at 8:35 pm UTC

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much excited about this.
Ultima Underworld was one of the first games I ever played.. and oh, it was great. It was amazing. It was so immersive.. with the need to sleep, to eat, with the factions, with the objects belonging to actual "people" of the Abyss.. Oh boy.. it was great.
I will also probably nack it eventually but I would STRONGLY advise caution. Not only because the Linux version could come much later than the Windows one, but also because it could not come at all. Linux version is a stretch goal (750 000 $). It's the first, and given the good start of the pledges, it will probably be reached, but it still is a stretch goal.

Feral Interactive Are Teasing Another Linux Port

You are totally wrong ! All of you !
Depth charge = UFO - Terror from the deep !
(Yeah, I know, it doesn't need porting, just DosBOX)
I hope it's not Spore, I bought and played it on Windows a few years ago and it was just.. well, let's just say I didn't have any fun.

GamingOnLinux GOTY Section & Nominations Now Open
23 Dec 2014 at 6:26 am UTC Likes: 1

I have a suggestion. As it is a GOTY but whe can vote for previous years games... why not make two categories ? If it's not too mcuh work for you of course. Fisrt category would be "Linux Game of the Year 2014"
and the other could be "Linux Best Game to the date" or "Linux Best Game of the last 5 years"; something like that.

I love Aspyr because of the overall quality of their ports, because they port games I like, and because they show us their porting process, with its ups and downs sometimes.
And I love GOL because of its fantastic community and because it's the best way to kee up to date with the latest Linux game releases.

Well, I do love the actual design of Gaming On Linux. It's clean, as has already been said by others. I hope that it won't change too much :)

Quoting: HamishAt any rate, you all can come and laugh at my graphics card from 2008 if you want. I really wouldn't mind. ;)
Same here :)

And I think that with my GeForce 9600GT, and my Core2 @ 1.6 GHz, I should'nt even bother trying the Witcher 2

A Look At July's IndieBox With Forced, Plus Key Giveaway
8 Aug 2014 at 4:40 pm UTC

Why I love IndieBox ?
Two words : Indie and Box. :D
I think it's great to support indie developers, even more when I remember that back in the first Humble Indie Bundle days, they gave me my first awesome Linux games. (World of Goo... so great!)
And, as pretty much everyone has already said : the box. The old DOS days, memories of the childhood, the fantastic gear they provide with their boxes.. It's really a great idea.

Dungeon Defenders Eternity Released For Linux On Steam
24 Jul 2014 at 7:46 am UTC

I recently bought Dungeon Defenders + All DLC on a big sale at the Humble Store, trying to find a Linux replacement for Orcs Must Die.
Quoting: liamdaweNow is the perfect time to experience Dungeon Defenders and its expansions the way they were meant to be played!"
I think it's a very odd move to say : "Hey, our game was buggy, but instead of properly finishing and patching it, we are releasing a new game that's pretty much the same but improved and with the bugs fixed"
I was pretty happy with Dungeon Defenders, it's a good game, even if I still prefer Orcs Must Die, but I recently learned that some things that seemed normal to me (mana gems not falling and the player not being a "gem magnet" ) where in fact Linux-only bugs. I hope they fix them one day, for free, as it should be.
Oh, and another reason I would not buy the game : even in single player you have to be online, and have another registration on top of your Steam one. You can't play local.

Clockwork Empires From Gaslamp Games Should Be On Linux In August
22 Jul 2014 at 7:35 pm UTC

Quoting: HamishLinux was a target platform from the word go though - it might be pushing the line a tad far if we start demanding same day release for Linux even for the likes of "Earliest Access".
Then I probably misread or don't remember well, I thought they had no plans for Linux, and the game seemed pretty interesting to me, that's why I was disappointed.
