Quoting: ShabbyXI mean, there's many people that don't hate Windows entirely, they just hate Modern Windows so they can definitely still have a nostalgia for the classics.Inspired by the old Windows 95 theme and classic PowerPointThis is one game that's not going to be popular here, lol
Gyro through a collection of handcrafted mazes in the Steam Deck exclusive Game With Balls

So dumb to market this as only for Steam Deck when there's many controllers like the DualSense and Switch ones that can connect to PC just fine and support gyro, not to mention of course other handhelds since basically every single one has gyro built in also, you are basically just artificially limiting your audience even more than necessary for a game that already has a "limit" built in just cause a technology used. Also like in general, people on PC hate the entire concept of "exclusives".
Valve makes Steam Library customisation a little easier in the latest Steam Beta

you basically had to go to a specific Steam folder and paste your image file in there, with a specific name such as [APPID].pngThere was a way to change it in Steam, the same way you change the normal cover, by right clicking on a game on the Library Home tab. The issue is, the wide cover only appears when a game is your most recently played or if Steam's algorithms manage to make it appear at the top of Play Next so it's very hidden, you have to launch a game just to change it's wide cover
The original SteamOS-like Linux distro HoloISO now dead, replaced with immutable version

Now if they contacted HoloISO and got early access to build on the new version, that wouldn't be a factor then but presumably, they just forked from the public source code and got absolutely blindsided. They wouldn't have had time to rebuild the OS in time to deploy on shipping devices so they quickly pivoted to what they knew worked, Windows.

Quoting: damarrinIt does? I'd say the backlash Ayaneo received from "Windows fans" explains the Ayaneo stuff. I'm sure an immutable system would have been more beneficial for them. The idea is presumably, they built their fork on the old version only to later find out it was being discontinued and replaced very shortly after. (Likely after they announced it, HoloISO contacted them and told them "uh there might be a problem" hence the very quick backtrack) They would've released a device unable to get updates since the OS they built on was now dead and they needed to rework their entire fork and since there's no migration process, require everyone to reinstall their devices.

elementary OS 7 'Horus' is out now with major AppCenter upgrades

There was a massive controversy years ago when they changed their website's download button to by default charge $20 for the OS even though it literally says "Pay What You Want" and lets you put $0. Everyone was mad they were "charging for what should be free" when in reality, they don't have to even make an OS for people and are allowed to want to get paid for their work. People are insanely greedy nowadays expecting everything to be handed to them for free.
People still hold some grudge against them because of that.

Quoting: sudoerHonestly Elementary is a great distro, I'm assuming 90% of the reason why the rating is bad is people hate how they run their business, not the actual quality of the distro itself.Quoting: Liam DaweWhen most mainstream distros have a rating around 8+ there and Elementary has a 6.6, that shows something about the distro.Quoting: sudoerNo wonder it has a score of 6.6/10 in distrowatch.Distrowatch is still a thing? Wow. I've never known anyone to seriously pay attention to it apart from people who wrongly thought their ranking meant something...

Quoting: Liam DaweI don't focus on the scores but they are still a great source to see when new releases drop. I've learned about so many new distros and releases for existing ones through them.Quoting: sudoerNo wonder it has a score of 6.6/10 in distrowatch.Distrowatch is still a thing? Wow. So the back of the skin shows the Switch logo, question is... is it actually blurred on the product itself for the meme or did they just do it for marketing and there's actually a Switch logo there 😂
JSAUX release 'CaseKiller' for the official Steam Deck Dock to help with protective cases

Quoting: lectrodeLink to larger dock that fits it? Every dock I've seen has been made for the vanilla Steam Deck without a case (heck, the original Jsaux dock came out even before there were any cases on the market).Afaik the original Jsaux dock is already wider than Valve's so it already fits cases. Also the iVoler metal one on Amazon is known to fit cases.

Quoting: tamodoloI must say that this misleading type of non cientific review deceaved me greatly. This literally isn't a review? It's a news post saying Valve added support for this controller, where does it say it's a review and how is it misleading?
