Unless I am remembering incorrectly, I thought the game was made in Java? Even if your lazy it's pretty easy to support Linux with a basic Java game.

Quoting: thelimeydragonI have a copy of what could be claimed to be the first "Star Wars" game. Although it is not officially licensed. Was made in 1978 for the RCA Studio II clones (bit more to it than that but that's a whole other topic). It's very to extremely rare.. but you're not missing out on much.
Ah yeah, I'm aware of that one! I've been having trouble getting solid confirmation of whether or not it's licenced though.
I am 99.99% certain it's not licensed. All paperwork I've seen that's included with copies has 0 mention of LucasArts or any trademarks.

Quoting: peterf28what valve removed steamplay ??? that was the only feature that got me convinced to actually pay for game . no way i will pay twice . they can call themselves lucky when i pay once . but i already got used to greedy corporations, I don't want to have anything to do with them anymore .
No there are just 2 versions of the game on Steam. One package has the depots of the Mac and Linux versions which are steamplay with each other. One package only has the Windows version which is also steamplay but as the only depot in it is the Windows version it's only "steamplay" with Windows.

Only other case I am aware of:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/214630/ [External Link]

Essentially there's two copies of the game on the steam store.

The "Arma: Cold War Assault" in question is Steamplay... it's just Steamplay between Mac and Linux computers.

The other "Arma: Cold War Assault" is also technically Steamplay.. except it only has a Windows version.

I believe valve prefers companies not divide games up like this but I guess sometimes contractual reasons cause games to be split.

Wonder what happened to Total War: Rome II. That was talked about being ported and has a Linux depot in limbo a few years too.

Just a heads up, Saints Row: The Third on Linux has broken co-op play

The Cause of crashing is down to USB Microphones it seems. As when I connect to a user with one or a user plugs one in, it will crash. Without the USB Microphone.. had hours of co-op on SR3 so far.
