@cxpher - yup, they could have made $80-100 just off of me alone (I do a lot of gifting.) Had he approached it ahead of time like hey guys I'm going to release numbers later so give us all the support you can :)
That would have been a hit.
But now he's got us like a dog rubbing our nose in the numbers after many of us boycotted him due to his arrogance.
And like a abusive boyfriend just expects people to "go with it", this defective behavior might not bite him in the ass today or next week or in a month, but someday arrogance and aggression lead to a fall.
But seriously, he should apologize for distancing the Linux community. I'm 100% dead serious. Why should his mistakes lead to him being hated when he can just say sorry and then we can forgive his ignorance and arrogance.

@Nyamiou - this guy gets it. Some sales may have been discounted and many others may have not been counted at all due to wrongly being assigned to windows.
I think I bought 30 games this month all from my phone for my Steam Machine.

Take for example Stardew Valley, they've sold 1,442,067 copies at 14.99 pulling in 21.6 Million Dollars for a single developer probably developing the thing in mums house.
Gaming is a gold mine for people with a little bit of OCD, Passion, Hypo-Mania and technical ability meshed with innovative skills.

Quoting: mr-eggIs there any doubt that Gaming is the new gold rush ? Make something decent and never have to work in a traditional job for the rest of your life ( okay, easier said than done ) make something half decent get it on steam and its still a good few years away from the grind. It is. We are in a new renascence where godly tools are now in the hands of mere mortals and we're seeing the birth of many new kinds of games which are going toe to toe with the traditional game development model.

How to piss off an entire community into boycotting you thereby loosing you and your company sales, press attention, internet back links, fans, and gamers and respect.
Perhaps Garry Newman should apologize for being a asshat and win back some our respect, otherwise it's straight to the toilet for his stuff IMO.

Quoting: MblackwellI had thought about buying it at some point in the future until he made a lot of anti-Linux statements. I'm sure there are a lot of other Linux users of a similar mindset.@Mblackwell - I can't Imagine what you're reffering to, oh wait... nevermind.
Quoting: Garry Newman@adevland Of course. If i could do it again I'd have never supported linux.https://twitter.com/garrynewman/status/690531015325016064 [External Link]

So 19.99 * 34,291 = 685,477.09
So In other words Rust has sold an extra 700 thousand dollars (assuming his numbers are honest.)
Also also being based on a Game Engine - Unity3D which Supports Deploying to Linux.
I know like 10 people who use Linux and guess what? 0 of them play Rust - they all play Ark.
The reviews have been mediocre and kept me of any of my Linux Gaming Clan from buying, and also - the anti-linux remarks from the creator have turned me off to ever buying anything from him.
*snap*
Maybe Gary should quit Gaming Development and become and Accountant instead :P

paraLLel, a Vulkan renderer for the N64 emulator used by RetroArch

RetroArch never installed right on my last Archlinux, I couldn't get it working.
Anywho, scaling up to 1920x1080 or 3840x2160 is essential at some point.
It's nice to have a emulator that takes care of all of the parts that muphen64 doesnt - CLI configuration and saving doesn't sound fun to me. I'm amazed they have no GUI.

It does require a beta code though, if anyone has the code and wants to share I wouldn't mind. My copy comes when they launch Linux and especially when they launch multiplayer who knows when hopefully Starbound Developers don't screw that up.

Quoting: poke86Excellent! I'll definitely pick up a copy. It seems the Linux/Mac beta is open, too?Yes it's showing up in my girls Arch Linux Steam under the Beta tab.
In the SteamDB branches:
mac_linux_test | Help test the mac and linux releases!and there's no lock.
Can someone confirm this?
