I did this one year, it felt fantastic to take a serious look at each game and clear out 100+ stuff.

Usually I'll throw games on the list I see on gaming news sites and then wait until they are out of early access or a while before I compare and do a deep dive.

My appreciation for GOG has grown a lot too as I am sick of buying a game 5 times over and that it MUST be online to play.

For archival reasons always online is no bueno.

There was some kind of GameDev, or Learn C++ bundled on the same CD or another CD at that time and it basically got me into programming and eventually game development for the next decade or so.

Valve made a part of my life and now as a 10 year Linux Gamer I made part of theirs. Life is so strange.

Nope, images are correct and yeah that doesn't particularly feel like an improvement, the buttons are way too big and you actually now see less of the list.

Awful change to the media player. Who the hell approved that? Glad I don't use Steam for playing music, I guess.

I wouldn't call the old version "good", maybe some people liked it? But I would be happy if they kept messing with the Media Player until it comes out right instead of not at all.

Considering the large number of sudden deaths this year, I wonder if some FOSS people would be interested in codifying certain FOSS projects as recipients in the event of their death.

I could easily think of a dozen FOSS projects that would be worthy recipients in my opinion.

Even what 1M could do for GIMP if they can get the foundation squared up.

I guess I won't have to manually install Baldurs Gate 3 mods. Great. Though I think we are done with the game until they stabalize it and get their updates out of the way. 4 playthroughs in enough.

Thanks, yeah IIRC this may be because the servers are still hosting for CS:GO only.

I spent like 4 days trying to navigate map porting but the Workshop Editor in the launch options only runs on Windows.

Also last I checked there were some serious hoops to jump through to host a dedicated server, you have to install a csgo server and then update it, and I don't host a server so I didn't go ahead.

Using the console `%command% -console` launch option it's possible to manually load a map `map surf_mymap` and then there is a series of surf commands so you can surf offline temporarily to test it out.

Edit: In case anyone wants to try here are my notes on what commands may be relevant.
