Total War: ROME REMASTERED from Feral Interactive is out now

I figured I'd buy a copy because I love Feral and reports of AMD MESA on Linux are good and sometimes old games are just made well and interesting to try.

I noticed on the Steam download page it reported that it will take 43.95 GB and not the 70 GB not sure why (Maybe it's more if you also install the original version too)

(Looks like 70GB is with Free Release DLC)

Oh! I would like to see the Linux Foundation sueing the Minnesota Unniversity... Getting my Pop Corn ready!
Find penalty laws of "fucking with nuclear facilities" and "hospitals" and I'm sure there could be a pretty long list of felonies drawn up.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing the EFF sue the shit out of them.

(Oops I didn't mean to Poison the water of the Children's Hospital and Old Folks Homes, "It was just a paper bro")

Sofa gaming Linux distro GamerOS version 23 is out continuing to fill the gap of SteamOS
8 Mar 2021 at 11:54 am UTC Likes: 3

Quoting: gojulThis distro is based on Arch. Isn't it risky for gaming ?
I've been gaming on Arch for like 6 years, rolling release "risky" is mostly a myth.

40% of the gamers here prefer to game on Arch

https://www.gamingonlinux.com/users/statistics

Meanwhile non-rolling distros occupy less linux-gamer-share.

So there you have it my two cents on it.

Edit: Used SteamOS a few years and loved it, the AUR has a lot of awesome content between Kodi, Retroarch, etc... I'm really glad someone is picking up the torch and making improvements, adding Value to to Valve products for gamers like Emulators, Chromium Browser (for Netflixers probably), etc... is perfect.

I'm so glad they decided to be based on Arch -- I wish other projects like Elementary would see the Enlightenment and ditch their awkward Ubuntu LTS octo-snap monster base for something more mainline.

Terraria for Google Stadia is surprisingly back on and going through certification

Quoting: 14I'm not surprised to see this news at all, however I'm actually a little disappointed. How can you continue to work with a company that controls all your assets and is unreachable? I don't get it.
As much as I agree, I think the difference boils down to which order each priority is numbered -- I think they [Re-Logic] (prioritize practicality over morality -- they probably REALLY wanted to give Google Stadia the finger for good, but already had a financial investment and didn't want to disappoint fans since they already announced intended support.

(Hopefully Re-Logic learned their lesson and as close to 0 of their infrastructure is hosted by Google)

On that note -- Google Stadia makes an EXCELLENT argument for why someone would want to purchase their games on GOG even before Steam -- an Always_On_Anything can ALWAYS go from BAD to WORSE. My trust in Steam is directly proportionate to Gabe Newells vitality -- what a chad legend, we need more like him.

If they want to charge a "convenience" fee like Ardour does for Mac/Win OS users buying binaries, they could and simply sell copies on Steam for $5-10/ea. He'll I'd even buy one just to make updates automatic.

The alternative is that gamers could "build their own copy from source". Most Mac & Windows users aren't gonna do that obviously.

Arguing that "open source" somehow prevents this is just naive & ignant.

Money may tear down some barriers & lower friction speeding up product production but it doesn't open every door and fix every problem.

If you want to help them cover costs or buy them some pizza, coffee or beer you can do so here:
