Yes Ill buy it. Especially if it goes to steam.
All it has to do is work well and be easy to install and play.
There are many old titles I would buy dosbox or winewraps of. But the rule of thumb is that if its post 2008 I will only buy native because wine wraps of this category are too unstable -- native or nothing.
I was looking at the atari collection on linux on fanatical yesterdy, theres so many retro collections to buy. I love it.

For a lot of gamers the juice probably isnt worth the squeeze.
For new gamers though its a great kickstart to a Linux Gaming Library.
Are all bundles redeem each key at a time now? I prefer to not even have windows games in my steam library.

SteamOS is still alive with a new Beta, although it's a rather uninteresting one

I expect SteamOS gaming to be very much a "Falcon Punch"
As the toolchain gets really polished development will boom. Mesa, Wine, CLANG, Vulkan, AMD DC, etc...
I just want a zero bullshit linux gaming console.

Open your wallets, there's some great Linux games on sale right now

I cant imagine merging indie inocense with corporate ruthlessness turning out well.
Well, maybe now IGN can stop shitposting everything that isnt AAA for $$$ now that they own a significsnt distribution mechanism used by indies.
We will see how much IGN abuses their new play toy in the coming months.

Just imagine jurisdiction passing in China requiring all citizens to pay for cleaner air then X company planting tons of trees or something just to extract cash from the common people while pocketing 80% of the funds for CEO bonus pay.
Imagine a world where you pay for every minuet of internet access you need. You get 1,000 minuets of Internet for $30, and that only includes the top 50 websites, for access to GOL you are charged a extra 4.99, Slashdot $8.97, OMGUbuntu $4.97 this is the nightmare world we hopefully never enter into.

Quoting: wolfyrionI wonder why these are purchasable and not free... :o?Because taking capitalism to the limit would make even the air you breath require a mandatory nominal fee.
I dont see any new high textures or a remake of these games in HD.
There are so old games that should be for free for the the new generation to enjoy the old Arcade Games.
Well anyway you can easily grab a MAME Emulator for Linux and play them for free if you know where to get the ROMS.

Or how bout this scenario -- I play a FPS, haterid grows when attention is focused on realistic gun sounds, graphics and physics.
And this one too - I play a RPG, haterid grows when attention is focused so much on graphics that story & character arcs are just a afterthought.

I imagine that even if all development haulted someone from X country would pick up the torch and it would be seen through to completion with no challenge to the local laws of X country.
If we really want to, since Linux is already on the International Space Station, we could start our own country on the moon with the new Moon Base coming.

Quoting: kyoya66Are you guys still fine after this?Considering open-source is the ultimate zombie I can't imagine anything open source could ever be killed.

I wonder if this will be a big part of Atari's strategy bringing valued classics back to the hands of consumers easily in 2018 with their new console.

This is as exciting as it was last year to see mesamatrix.net fill in as MESA has grown up.
Wonderful work @all, keep the torch burning and kick some ass -- incredible achievement so far.
