Quoting: Segata Sanshirocorrect, i just edited my post. The game is $13.99(US) @ dlgamer.us for anyone interested. Are you sure that's not just a Windows download? Can't find any mention of a Steam key and don't know what a Kalypso Launcher key is or whether their launcher even works on Linux.

The game is $13.99(US) @ dlgamer.us [External Link] for anyone interested. Also if you are not using the Enhanced Steam Plugin [External Link] to navigate the steam store in your browser, you really should be. It adds some really nice features. The big one being it tells you where the current cheapest price is ;) and I really like the "gaming wiki article" button and "view in steam database" button.
EDIT* still a good plugin to have, but this particular game at DLgamer is not a steam key, it is a retail key. They do provide the game to download but is only for windows it seems. Guess I got screwed on that one. Live and learn to pay more attention lol. Hopefully they will refund me, but I'm not holding my breath.
GreenManGaming does have a 15% off voucher (QRJ1I6-2SSDU0-LN9UUG) that will work for it though and it IS steam, I made sure this time ;) at least if I don't get a refund from DLgamer, some my $$ to them will (hopefully) goto a dev who does linux games. *gotta look on the bright side sometimes*

SPACECOM Strategy Game Released, Another Day 1 Linux Release

I wish this were a bit cheaper, no big pay bonus for me this month so I don't have as much to spend on games. I don't think this would really be a game for me, but I would be willing to buy it simply to sway the linux #'s since I keep preaching the reason linux #'s are off is because of non day 1 linux games. I've added it to my wishlist though, so if it goes cheaper or when I have some more cash ill probably throw it down.
EDIT* of course I will buy it from linux.gamesrepublic.com when I do ;)

Yep, I only needed to watch about 30 seconds (i did watch it all though) of a video of Dying Light and Hellraid to know I can get behind those games. Bring em to linux and Ill buy em. Promise.
EDIT*
*begin rant*
"We won’t have Linux/SteamOS version of the game at launch but would like to port it after the Windows and console versions are released."
I'm getting real tired of this crap. Hire one more damn developer to keep up with the linux version as the game is being made or even a developer who will spend half his time on it. Especially because this is not some tiny indie dev working out of their basement or moms garage. I wan't to play on release day, not 6 months later.
Im not a game developer, but I would think that it would be easier to just keep a linux version functioning from the get go instead of trying to tackle it afterwards. I feel like it would be more polished as well.
Companies complain the linux sales are not what they expect them to be, yet they don't give us a fair chance. Too many people who do prefer to play on linux ARE going to buy them when they release and simply dual boot or play in wine, so neither of which will actually be counted towards being a linux sale.
I have done very well and have not played the metro redux games yet, but to say that I am not getting closer to simply booting up windows is an understatement. I've had to listen to two friends of mine talk about them, and they look at me like I am crazy for waiting. To them it only nullifies the good things about linux that I put in their ears. It's like your friends telling you the score of the big game you had to DVR because you were working and kinda ruining it for you. *end rant*

Torment: Tides of Numenera New Video, Looks Absolutely Stunning

Quoting: ShmerlSuch games don't need multiplayer since they try to be close to pen and paper RPGs but in game form. To make it similar with multiplayer one needs a serious environment with GMs and such like some MMORPGs do to be conductive for roleplaying. And that's a completely different scope of a project.so what you are saying is it's not diablo. That's all I needed to know. Highly highly doubt this will be my "cup of tea" then. It does look nice though for the people who will enjoy it.

Quoting: DrMcCoyYeah, this will be a story-heavy CRPG, where the combat will be mostly optional. More focus on atmosphere, story and the question "What does one life matter?". And lots of reading. :)So this will not be "diablo like"? I don't mind reading and a good story, but I do enjoy plowing through hordes of minions though. The developers also said they don't have any plans for multiplayer, so no co-op. The co-op is half of the fun of a game such as diablo for me.

Man.. great couple of weeks we have had with indie developers straight up going in no lube style on the game community. Either complaining or not doing.
I didn't like the idea of crowd funding online from day 1. Luckily the only game I have ever bought on early access was Kerbal Space Program. It IS what early access should be. Some do it right, most don't. I agree that Greenlight needs to go away. Or fork steam and create a totally separate greenlight version. Only when the game is complete can it move to steam. At the very least, like someone else said. Allow me to turn greenlight off.
I can't help but feel that the indie devs have figured out that us linux users WILL pay usually above the average of other platforms, and simply use the word "linux" to take advantage. This might not fit with this particular game.. but it sure does fit with other 2 big screw ups over the last couple of weeks.

Saibot Releases Doorways: The Underworld

Quoting: EikeIt's the opposite for me: I was really, really terrified by Amnesia, The Dark Descent - and I loved it. So after having tried, would you think Doorways is good for me?I think possibibly I just never gave amnesia long enoiugh for it to get interesting. I only played for about 2 hours. It's hard recomending games because everyone is different. I can say that the hour+ ive spent with the 1st chapter had more jumps than the 2 I played of amnesia albeit cheaper "scares". I think the first 2 chapters are worth $2, so if you have $2 and wanna play a game go for it!

I was against eON for one reason. Witcher 2. Seeing what they did with it and turned it into a perfectly playable game, I am less against it. If it helps bring older games to us that either don't work flawlessly with wine or will NEVER get a true OpenGL linux port, and the games run fine. Then by all means go for it!
It seems that many of the popular game engines either already support OpenGL (ie. unity) or are working on it. UE4 is shaping up nicely from what I can tell from the demos. I would be appalled if the Source2 engine did not have a native OpenGL renderer. It seems we will see OpenGL for the Frostbite engine before long I hope, since they have said they want to bring it to linux and mac. I'm sure there are more too (I feel like i've read CryEngine is coming too). Once all the renderer's support OpenGL then true linux ports should be much easier for the developers.
EDIT* duh, StarCitizen, that's how I know CryEngine is getting/has an OpenGL renderer.

It's certainly "different". At least I am not familiar with anything quite like it. Probably not my "cup-o-tea" but there is a demo (god bless them, if only every game had a demo) so Ill give it a shot. Thanks for the video!
