The Inner World - The Last Wind Monk, a beautiful hand-drawn adventure & puzzle game will come to Linux
17 Feb 2017 at 6:55 pm UTC

Quoting: minegoReleasing a game on Linux requires a bit more effort than making sure it starts.

I really hope they try harder this time. As others have already mentioned, the DRM free version of the game is unplayable and has never been fixed.

Playing the Windows version through wine wasn't an alternative for me either because the movement of the character was too slow (compared to its movement speed on Windows).

The game is beautiful though and the characters charming and funny. Music and voice acting are fantastic as well and altogether it's an outstanding adventure game. If they manage to release a proper Linux version of The Last Wind Monk I'd buy it without hesitation.

Into The Breach, the new strategy game from the makers of FTL will be on Linux
11 Feb 2017 at 1:59 pm UTC

I never finished FTL and could never bring myself to play it for a longer period of time. But I do like the game nonetheless.

Into the Breach looks very nice again and I will also pick it up.

Wine-Staging 2.1 release with CSMT support for DirectX 10 & 11
11 Feb 2017 at 1:54 pm UTC

In my experience, controller support in wine is indeed kind of problematic.
I had my Logitech F310 controller working in some older versions of wine in Lego Harry Potter, but never in Lego Batman. Now with the latest wine or wine-staging version the controller is no longer working anymore.

HITMAN for Linux officially announced, port by Feral Interactive and arriving this month
7 Feb 2017 at 7:22 pm UTC

Another great and prestige release by Feral, much respect.

I, however, wouldn't touch another Hitman title by IO Interactive/Square Enix after the huge disappointment that Hitman: Absolution was, story wise as well as gameplay wise. I'd rather wish that Blood Money gets released on GOG.com eventually.

The Battlefield-like single player FPS 'Ravenfield' will have a paid version; a Steam Greenlight page is now live

Quoting: chuzzle44To hell with multiplayer, everything is multiplayer.
While agree with you there to some extent and much prefer playing a good single player game over multiplayer games, this game simply screams for multiplayer. Really, it is like a simplified Bad Company 2 without destructible environment and stuff. But it is a team vs. team FPS and frankly, playing against bots gets dull fairly quickly in my opinion because there simply isn't anything else to do in this game than shooting stuff.

It is a fun game though and I really enjoy playing it from time to time.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire announced, has crowdfunding campaign
5 Feb 2017 at 6:06 pm UTC

Wow, that looks and sounds beautiful again (I really like the voice acting of Matthew Mercer). And it just made me continue playing Pillars of Eternity. ^^

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and XCOM 2 are both super cheap this weekend
5 Feb 2017 at 5:58 pm UTC

Kind of a shame that the price for a relatively new game like Deus Ex deteriorated so quickly.
But I also have to admit that Deus Ex: MD never gripped me like its predecessor did. I played through Human Revolution multiple times but I have yet to finish Mankind Divided. Problem is, I simply don't feel like playing the game. For some reason I don't find it interesting enough.

Double Fine confirm that Full Throttle Remastered will see a Linux version after the Windows release
5 Feb 2017 at 5:38 pm UTC

Heck yeah! That's some phantastic news!

I enjoyed playing the game back in 1995 and would love to play it again.
Hope though that the player will again be able to choose between the remastered and old graphics as I do prefer the original pixel graphics over any revamped graphics.

Exclusive: Civilization VI now fully confirmed to be coming for SteamOS & Linux and soon too

Great news, even though I'm not really interested in the game. But its good to see so many great titles coming to Linux.

Quoting: tuubiEver been to the Internet before? As they say, 90% is porn and the rest pretty much heated arguments about stuff that just doesn't matter.
ROFL Best thing I've read in a while.

Dune Legacy, the open source Dune 2 game engine has a major update
4 Jan 2017 at 8:09 pm UTC

Good news.

I gave it quick whirl. Only played the first campaign mission. I had graphical glitches when playing in full screen. But in windowed mode everything works fine.
