If they ask nicely, I don't have any problems with that approach.

I like all those changes. KDE is an amazing piece of software ;)
As for the telemetry: as long as a certain project is open source and asks nicely, I always opt in for it. If they need more data, I am happy to provide it.

Worker unions are definitely needed. I am glad that they decided to finally create one.

I got that email as well.
I ignored it as for me it was just some clown thinking that it's funny to open some cases with naughty (in this case politically incorrect and kinda offensive, but you get my point) word and mention as many users as possible to spam their mailbox.
Some people really need to realize that they are freakin' pricks and grow up.

I'm not calling it a 100% scam, it's more that it looks a bit scammy. I believe it might just be the matter of issues with communication or transparency from their end, and not necessarily a bad will. Don't get me wrong.

That's an uncommon move. The game has mixed scores on Steam with some really basic elements which could make that game fun missing.
There is no guarantee that money from Kickstarter will make them fix those issues. This game looks a bit scammy to me. So far, it's only for selling the game in pretty boxes.
