Great review! Thank you for the amd, proton, and valve rating details. I was very hype about this one and the demo had me really thinking about skipping it.... and Valve's Deck Rating/Compatibility System is less than reliable right now. Happy to add this one to the collection asap!

Yeah... Some 8bitdo software on Linux first would be helpful. I have and love the 2.4 too, and it barely takes updates on Windows. It isn't worth the time of dragging out ye olde windows 10 PC as it is.

THE FINALS broken on Linux / Steam Deck (yes again) with Update 5.12.0

How do we keep doing this??
(Ya'll know i'm a little biased, but still...)
The Finals is one of the biggest multiplayer anticheat-abiding linux games right now... and they repeatedly fumble it for linux players on every major update.
everytime i turn on my pc there's a finals update and its fine. like 15-20 updates a month. but when the new content season drops the linux player's day 1 isnt until like day 4. so annoying.

oh nice! I love that they are doing it, but the split screen co-op is definitely going to test some relationships. Wifey and I enjoyed It Takes Two but we got bored of A Way Out. We'll see how this one pans out.
Sadly the RoadCraft demo is currently broken on Steam Deck / Linux

I just about cleared my schedule for this one..... super bummed now. I guess i'll just flip my trucks over accidentally after 30 minutes of futzing with mud tires in Snowrunners then. ughh...

I don't know how I missed this game or this article! I grew up on Pebble Beach golf for the NES, Hosthots & Outlaw golf on ps1/2, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour for xbox 360. Tiger Woods had a great soundtrack, but that classic 2 or 3-button timing based swing system of the old days is that good stuff. Also, that analog flick stick system definitely killed a bunch of controller joysticks back in the day.
Super Video Golf popped up for me on the Couch Co-Op sale and I couldn't part ways with $7 quick enough. This game hits all the right nostalgia buttons for me.

Blocking Linux / Steam Deck in Apex Legends led to a 'meaningful reduction' in cheaters

I wonder if the meaningful reduction in cheating activity was actually because of their reduction in the playerbase in general...
As a big battlefield fan, I am ready to make peace with not being able to play it on Linux from here on out. I was always hoping that Apex Legends being Linux friendly would open those doors but it seems like it may be a lost cause. Dragon Age Veilguard seemed like a change of heart for EA, but alas, singleplayer linux games are commonplace.
I will continue to champion The FINALS as a beacon of peak Linux multiplayer gaming. Ironic that it's from ex battlefield/DICE devs.

I've been following Funselektor for years and was wondering what they'd do after drifting and rally stuff. This looks great! I love their art style and will be happy to see it from a "closer to the ground" perspective.

I was hoping for a headphone jack cuz it looks like it could be a portable hifi mp3 player with portable DAC potential.
It's giving future palm pilot vibes tho.
