Mesa 25.1 will default to Zink+NVK instead of the old Nouveau OpenGL driver for NVIDIA on Linux

Awesome to see! Zink is handy to use even on AMD for some older native titles (BioShock Infinite ran much better with it back when I tested).

I'll be interested to see some games like Minecraft benchmarked with Zink on Nvidia GPUs.

Quoting: TevurDear Remedy, sincerly hope you're the next devolper getting pulverized by capitalism. You earned it!
Let's not forget, Control was an Epic Exclusive. Even more reason to dislike the studio.

Some awesome features in this! Great to see the devs pushing through and against all of the negativity surrounding Godot.

Amazon's previous VP of Prime Gaming said they "tried everything" to disrupt Steam

Personally, I don't use Steam because I play on PC, but rather I choose to play games on PC because of Steam. Any company is going to have a hard time challenging that.

I also support GOG and Itch, and I'd sooner stop playing games altogether than touch the Epic Games Store.

As for Amazon, eh. Free games don't entice me to use a service. I've got hundreds on GOG and thousands on Steam, I don't need more. And I'd rather buy a game on Steam than get it for free elsewhere.

KDE Plasma 6.3 is out now with big fractional scaling improvements, drawing tablet upgrades and more

The fractional scale improvements here are utterly groundbreaking. Anyone following the proposal for the fractional-scale-v2 Wayland protocol will know this has been a pain point for a while. This is the single most exciting thing in Plasma 6.3 for me!

Please don't distract me I'm trying to dig a big hole over here

Got this expecting it to be a short game, but 12 hours for the asking price is more than worth it (possibly more if you're going for 100%). Was a fun way to spend a Friday after work, thanks for reporting on this!

Free to play Marvel Rivals is out now on Steam and works on Steam Deck / Linux (Steam Deck has issues though)

For anyone wondering, this game appears to use NetEase Anti-Cheat. It's not disclosed on the store page, but some Steam Discussions users did a bit of digging ( credit to Corinarh [External Link] ).

Not sure how invasive this anti-cheat is on Linux, but some might want to skip this one.

EDIT: To be clear, GamingOnLinux and AreWeAntiCheatYet both disclose the anti-cheat (although AWACY lists it as speculative). But the Steam Store Page, at time of writing, does not.

Quoting: CorbenIt's detected as a USB Keyboard, it sends keypresses, so it works with any 3rd party marcro software that works with your normal keyboard too.
Thanks! I specifically bought a keyboard that does not have any such software, but this leads into my questions of longevity with regards to software.

Quoting: CorbenYes, works on Deck, you need to add the user to the wheel group though, to be able to use the configurator, otherwise it doesn't have write access to the USB port.
Oh right, makes sense. Thanks for this extra note!

Since you note "write" does that mean the configuration is written to the unit and it doesn't go through a 3rd party software layer? In other words if I configure it on my PC, will those key configurations carry over to other devices? That would be pretty awesome if so, and sounds like there is potential for the community to have a field day with making its own configuration software too...

Whelp, I'm convinced I think. Will try to hold off until payday though

Looks like an interesting unit! I do have some questions before pulling the trigger that I was wondering if anyone could answer...
- Are the switches replaceable, for longevity but also to replace them with something like MX Blues or Greens to better match a gaming keyboard?
- What's Wayland support like, particularly for things like macros? Maybe it's registered as a regular keyboard/mouse to the system so there aren't any concerns? Most games are XWayland but still, I have a couple of native Wayland games.
- Anyone tried using this with the Steam Deck, particularly when docked? Could be easier to carry this around with my Steam Deck Dock than a full sized keyboard. Not sure how nicely the software would play in the Game Mode session or indeed inside GameScope.
- Another comment touched on this but how's the build quality overall?
- Not a fan of any hardware coming with "configuration software" - Worst case when hardware support is dropped, how likely am I to not be left with a paperweight?
