New Valve Linux Blog Post Talks About Performance
3 Aug 2012 at 5:50 pm UTC

Microsoft dropped support for OpenGL with the release of Windows Vista. There were articles about it all over tech sites.

Hovewer it didn't meant that hardware vendors (nVidia, AMD) ripped OpenGL from their drivers. RAGE from id Software still uses OpenGL as graphic API and DirectX for input and sound.

Quoting: "Bumadar, post: 4961, member: 93"ooh i am proven wrong :) now lets hope that eventhough they develop on ubuntu there will be none .deb releases
I hope that it will be distributed in .tar archive just like Desura. That way I can install it wherever I want and then move into another partition if needed. I don't like games packaged in .deb installing to system directories. Games should be put in their own places.

Steam For Linux...chugging along

We can also expect Rochard on Linux.

I've asked developers in the support site will they make a port know that Unity 4 offers this option and in return I was pointed at Unity 4 - Linux Export. In that video you can see Na'tosha Bard testing Rochard on Ubuntu.

Legends of Aethereus Kickstarter
15 Jul 2012 at 9:42 am UTC

The Kickstarter campaigns have a boost on the pledges at the beginning and end so it's still possible that they succeed.

They have much more to show than concept art and yet they struggle so much to achieve that low level of pledges. I don't know why but I suspect that people think it will be generic and uninteresting RPG. I think that atleast looking at the environments it has nice design. This is also one of the most impressive games made in Unity game engine.

I don't know if you are aware that Defense Grid 2 is on Kickstarter and if developers reach $750 000
there will be Linux and Mac versions. Hidden Path set quite a steep financial requirement and it seems unlikely to get that amount of pledges.

If somebody didn't make it to the Kickstarter than it's still possible to pledge through PayPal up until 25th May 2012.

Achron - time travelling RTS

It's already on Desura but somehow doesn't show in list of games for Linux. Type Achron in the search box of Desura and it will show.

Ubuntu Only - EA links in USC

Instead of installing this crap links to websites you could try a real game in NaCl. This game comes from other big publisher Ubisoft. The game is called From Dust and you need atleast Chrome 19 (currently in Beta stage) to play it. This version is marked as Beta and the system requirements are quiet beefy (Quad Core processor).

You can install it either from Chrome Web Store or by going to this address. You can try it for free (no saving) and the full version costs $9,99. The sound was very bad with PulseAudio but on Open Sound System it's much better and I think the same will be with pure ALSA (movie sequences still have pretty bad sound).

Did they state that somewhere where you could point us at. I didn't notice it myself.

They have almost $40,000 now and still 14 days to the end of the Kickstarter campaign. I really hope for the $100,000 but current trending atleast by looking at the Kicktraq stats suggest $72,000.

Aterdux Entertainment is a developer from Belarus located in capital city Minsk. I thought that only Americans can create a Kickstarter projects.
