Veeery nice! I remember when on a lan-party (anyone remember fiddling with the 10BaseT Coaxial cable madness and those forsaken windows drivers back then? Blessed those who had the original 3com ethernet card) someone gave us "copies" of the pre-release of Unreal Tournament and we all were totally hooked. It was so smooth, the music was awesome, the announcer epic. But even back then i hardly could keep up with the two older guys that were completely stoned all the time, but their aim was perfect. After remembering this i spun up UT3 from my library, and it ran perfectly without issues. Good times!

I got to check it yesterday, and i had to use Proton Experimental to start it on EndeavourOs (Ryzen/Nvidia mix). After that i had no more issues.
The Tutorial has no real save points, so make sure to have an hour or so to play with it.
My first impression of the demo is really good. It got the vibes right, has a decent tutorial and seems to have at least some depth. So if you like to shoot some toasters, this might entertain you.

I was always too old for discord, it was too confusing for me. I missed the magic of early IRC channels or BBS/Forum stuff. It was seperate, but i liked it that way.
Discord looked like... TEAMS. I am forced to work with teams, and i hate every little bit about it.
As well there are some instances where i could not avoid discord (the dirtywave m8 forums, a great little hardware music tracker), i was very very strict about what info i gave there.
As for screen sharing and streaming, i never have had use for that. My mumbleserver runs flawlessly for years on peanuts, and it does everything i need. Steam chat and irc do the rest.
What i really dislike about the recent developments is the implication for people herding us cats, like Liam does here. He can not say "i don't care, i will use XYZ"... :(

I just did a quick test with the new update, chose the new "performance" setting and gave it a try (i play on mouse&keyboard normally). I visited a big multiplayer base, and it was absolutely smooth. It did not stay on 60fps, but quite consistently around 50ish. It feel responsive and lag-free for me, despite all the nice buildings my former teammates came up with. So yeah, seems good to me!

i absolutely agree, its so much fun to have. They want to "complete" the story, which they intend to do with the final biome, the deep north. So the lore, which i really like so far, will have a real ending. They are slow, but i'll take that over any rushed content any day.

That is fantastic news! Though i will play it mostly on my Laptop, because i am still learning to use console controls. Any performance upgrade is appreciated.
Sadly, my former troupe isn't enjoying Valheim as much as i still do, so i have to do (another) solo or find a new group.

I had perfect eyes 40 years long. Then... i suddenly understood all those people that complained that "the light is too dark in here" or arms that grow too short.
The display size is the most limiting factor that prevents me to play anything on the deck, and mostly it comes down to text size. I'm with you on that. 8-)
