The dev of "Marble It Up!" had intriguing words to say about the native vs Steam Play argument for a Linux version

Unless the game is whitelisted by Valve most Linux users won't even be aware that there's a Linux "port" though. I personally wouldn't even have heard of the game if it wasn't for this article, since it doesn't show up on Steam for me, with my preferences set to display only Linux games. I also prefer a native* port over a Windows version with Proton any day.
* And a Unity game with a Linux version is no less native on Linux than its Windows version is on Windows.

Quoting: amataiUsual message about how minetest is cool to put under any post about Minecraft ^_^Minetest is definitely very fun. My eight year old son loves it.
Nah, seriously, if you have'nt tried Minetest, it has become very cool (I will probably stop putting message under every message about Minecraft on the issue, that can soon become annoying)

Quoting: Alm888What a twist! :woot:I hope so too, but there's nothing stopping publishers from using Itch.io as a Steam key reseller. See for example Plug in Digital, who have a vast number of "games" on Itch.io in the form of "How to get Steam Serial.pdf", and no other downloads.
And some time ago have I considered getting Overgrowth from Humble Store!
Nice to see icth.io grow. Maybe, it can become something Humble Store failed to (namely, an indipendent DRM-free store, not a steam-key reseller).

I remember the Pendulo games as being pretty hit and miss. I played through the Runaway trilogy and Yesterday, and of those only the first Runaway game and Yesterday were memorable (in a good way), if I remember correctly.
I also remember a scene from the second game well, where the protagonist takes a break from looking for his kidnapped, possibly dead, girlfriend to sleep with another woman, and afterwards do a silly victory dance on the beach.
If they make a Linux game, I'll give it a new chance, but otherwise I'm not so interested in what they're doing these days.
Backbone, on the other hand, looks very cool. :)
EDIT: I managed to track down some stuff I wrote about the two first Runaways in 2012:

Spoiler, click me
I played Runaway when it first came out and I remember enjoying it very much. Last year I bought the trilogy and replayed it. I still liked it, probably somewhat due to nostalgia, despite some pixel hunting annoying me a bit more this time around. Dream of the Turtle was also slightly entertaining and had some good puzzles, but the English voice acting was just plain awful. Especially so in the pirate segment of the game. It wasn't top notch in the first either, but it was a lot more apparent in this one. Also, it's more apparent that Brian isn't a very likeable character, and this doesn't help the game either. I've had to take a break from the trilogy after this game to be able to give the third instalment a fair chance.

I backed the first campaign, but hadn't caught wind of this one yet. I hope she's able to acquire additional funding somehow, while not having to make too many compromises.

Glad to hear progress is being made. :) Having to reboot to switch graphics is certainly not ideal, so most of the time I just leave my laptops on Nvidia. :S:

I played through the entire game and DLC with a single friend online, and it's definitely doable. Some of the levels are very difficult though.
