The Funding Crowd: Another Year In Review

Yes, BoUT2 was excellent! I also love Monochroma, but it does have some performance issues at times. I haven't played Elliot Quest again after they patched the dead end that cut my first run short, but I've put several hours into it, and what I played was awesome.

Dyscourse is a lot of fun too; especially the main game. I also really enjoyed The Fall and The Maker's Eden, but they both only have the first chapter available so far. And I've only put a couple of hours into Hot Tin Roof and Massive Chalice, but they both seem very good.

I didn't realize (or forgot) that Life of Pixel and Poltergeist was crowdfunded, but I enjoyed those too. Life of Pixel gets really frustrating (and not in a good way) in the later levels, and I benched that, but Poltergeist has a nice difficulty curve throughout.

So that's... 10 crowdfunded games I've played that was released in the past 12 months. I have to agree that crowdfunding seems to have had a pretty significant impact on Linux gaming.

Yeah, it would be great to see Castle in the Darkness on Linux. It's the only one of their games missing a Linux version now I think.

Point-And-Click Adventure Game 'The Perils of Man' Now Available On Steam For Linux

Quoting: oldrocker99Another point-and-click adventure, new on Steam and 33% off in the sale, is Dyscourse, which promises many different endings and a boatload of replayability as players explore the "game space."

Here's Steam's webpage:http://store.steampowered.com/app/234920/ [External Link].

Looks pretty unique and different, it's safe to say.
I actually wrote a review of Dyscourse a while back. They released the promised free DLC last week, and I've played through it a couple of times, but haven't gotten around to writing about it yet.

Fallout 4 And Steam Machine Release Dates A Coincidence? Yes, Probably.

I think it's a coincidence too, but... Bethesda is releasing their own DRM client, which probably isn't going to give them a whole lot of goodwill initially. Valve will probably want to allow content providers on SteamOS, like Netflix and HBO, to appeal to the console market. It doesn't seem completely absurd to me that Bethesda's client might be pre-installed on the official Steam Machines, since it could benefit both companies. Unlikely, yes, but highly unlikely...? Maybe not.

Yeah, I'm also very skeptical when Linux is mentioned almost as an aside. Doesn't give me a ton of faith in the developer's motivation in supporting our platform.
