Maybe we can convince Samsai to do a GOL Cast of it as well. :)

That looks pretty neat. I'm in the middle of too many games as it is at the moment though, so I'll probably hold off buying until there's more content in the game. Seems like the kind of game that would be perfect for Steam Workshop integration.

Quoting: musojon7417.99 euro / 26.99 uk pound? Bizarre exchange rate. Looks very good though.

Indeed. I was looking at the prices with the Steam Enhanced browser plugin before. When checking Steam directly with the "cc" query parameter however, I get $33.99 / 33.99€ / £25.49. It also looks like the pre-order discount changed from 10% to 15%, though the widget still says 10%.

Quoting: EKRboiDepending on cost I plan to go ahead and pre order this one. I am absolutely intrigued and SS3 runs well so I assume this will too.

They've determined the price now: $35.99 / 17.99€ / £26.99. It's more than I would usually pay for a game (since I mostly buy indies) but I figure it's so rare that a higher budget game actually appeals to me that it's worth it. Waiting for closer to release though, in case there are news of delays or something.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroPhilosophy in games is a great idea! There were already a few things in there about being free out of choice or being forced to be free - that's the kind of stuff games should have (as long as they're not presented in a ridiculous JRPG manner where it turns out that all existence is the creation of some guy with dark sunglasses and spiky hair).

Going to keep my eye on this one. Really enjoyed The Swapper so hopefully this will be just as good or better and along similar lines :)

100% agreed. Really curious about which direction they go with the story and how it will tie in with the gameplay. Definitely picking this one up before release.

Quoting: wolfyrionjust a note to fix the links all the links point to serious sam....

Thanks. Don't know how I missed that but it's fixed now.

Don't forget Dog Mendonça either, which Segata Sanshiro mentioned in another article. They only have 3 days left to go of their campaign and still need more than $13,000.

Dog Mendonça appeared on Steam today, with the demo available for download from there. Hopefully that gives the campaign a bit of a push, as they still have more than $13K to go to reach their target.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyActually, when it comes to Free Software, I believe even Richard Stallman agrees that games (and their art, for instance) can't necessarily be Free Software. So you can be an FSF-level believer in freedom for software and still agree to an exception for games.

Richard Stallman believes that the software in games should be libre but that nonfree games aren't all bad if it gets people to dump Windows.
QuoteNonfree game programs (like other nonfree programs) are unethical because they deny freedom to their users. (Game art is a different issue, because it isn't software.) If you want freedom, one requisite for it is not having or running nonfree programs on your computer. That much is clear.

Thus, in direct practical terms, this development can do both harm and good. It might encourage GNU/Linux users to install these games, and it might encourage users of the games to replace Windows with GNU/Linux. My guess is that the direct good effect will be bigger than the direct harm.

Quoting: BeamboomGreat article, this kinda content is really cool to be served on a site like this, it spices up the mix. Excellent work, Segata.

Agreed. Covering game releases and such is all well and good but these feature type articles that you and sometimes Hamish write make this place feel richer as a gaming news site.

Would love if one of the games was Unmechanical. That's probably more up icculus' alley though.

I'd gladly accept Castle of Illusion though. And that's much more likely.
