Honestly, I wish it succeeds. Games like the Hitman reboot trilogy with online-only save systems should not have existed in the first place, and let's hope this initiative will discourage devs/publishers from trying that again.
Marathon 2 a classic FPS originally from Destiny developer Bungie now on Steam

Quoting: robvvI'd actually never heard of these games until they appeared on Steam. I think I was playing too much Doom or Quake back in those days!To be honest, the series being effectively Apple-exclusive (before Aleph One became a thing, only Marathon 2 was ever released elsewhere, on Windows and Xbox) kinda had a hand in that.

Oh, it even has the XBLA graphics via a free DLC.
Anyway, time to wait until Infinity drops so I can replay the whole trilogy.

Honestly, I'm tired of companies trying to get on the current AI hype train.
I'm not *completely* against technologies like that, as long as it's used in moderation. For example, I use Tabnine [External Link] in basic mode, which is basically an improved code completion system, and using a purely local model trained exclusively on my own code. And this is more than enough for my own purposes.

In the case of point #2, I'd like to mention there's a British game that actually allows this: Talisman Digital Edition (by Nomad Games). You can buy DLCs for the game on Android, iOS, GOG, or Switch, and use them with the Steam version just fine, as long as they're registered to your Nomad Games account. And except for the Switch version (Nintendo doesn't like games accessing DLCs bought from outside Nintendo's system), same the other way around, too. Bought a DLC on Steam ? You can access it from the mobile game, or the GOG version.
And Valve has been okay with this for years already.

No leaving a Steam account in a will after you die according to Valve

Really, the only time this will change is when physical media properly dies off and people cause enough of a fuss that governments and legal bodies around the world put in new laws around digital ownership, which is not likely for a long time.I remember Valve was sued in France by UFC-Que Choisir several years ago on the grounds that digital purchases should be treated the same as physical purchases (aka customers should have ownership over their digital games, and could resell/transfer them just like with physical media), so I guess things could change depending on how the appeal goes (Valve lost the initial trial, for those unaware of the proceedings).

Noway near the level on the likes of DOOM of course but perhaps you'll have some fun with it.Doom is good, but IMO, the Marathon trilogy is a one-of-a-kind experience. Hell, out of all the boomer shooters that released in the last decade, I haven't seen a lot of them take after Marathon, which is a damn shame.
SteamVR Beta gets an SDL fix for Fedora Linux fans

The fix for Fedora should theoretically also fix an issue I've been experiencing on Arch [External Link], though I still have to try it.

Still no support for AZERTY and other layouts where the number row has the numbers in the "shifted" layer...
If they had kept using Unity instead of switching to UE4, I'd be able to play that game and I wouldn't have refunded it on release day.

Honestly, I really hope there will be legislation forcing devs to not make single-player components always-online.
What Ubisoft did with The Crew or IOI with the Hitman reboot trilogy should be illegal.
