Since it is an AMD platform I am thrilled to see some hobbyist slapping SteamOS on it and compare it to the tweak Win 11.

Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is now open source

WSL 1 or 2? Which one did they open sourced? WSL 1 was basically reverse Wine while WSL2 is a Hyper-V virtual machine. Which opens the question, which parts of Hyper-V did they opened up? I think none and I suspect this might be just the hyper visor as all Linuxes you can run with it are open source already.

Call me an idiot but this sound more like a PR stunt then actual meaningful open source contribution to me.

Steam Replay for 2024 is live to show off all those hours you played

Quoting: Frawo
Quoting: Vortex_AcheronticI find it a bit odd that Steam Deck and Linux are not the same platform. Oh I see in Liams Screenshots that the German translation is just misleading. I don't know how some does translate "device" to "platform" ... But yeah it makes a lot more sense in English 😅
Also interesting: I can now safely say that Bazzite (on PC, but in Game Mode) is detected as Steam Deck.
Which makes me think if I just launch my regular Steam client with the --gamepad-ui flag or what ever it is called. Do they count it as Steam Deck or is there more to it? :D

Raspberry Pi 500 and Raspberry Pi Monitor are available now

Nice, I still have my Pi 400 which I use as a smart TV on my smart TV. But since I don't trust my Smart TV it has no Internet. But the Pi400 with Kodi, different story. Such a beautiful piece of technology.

Originally I intended to use the Pi 400 as a regular desktop PC for browsing, video streaming, office and some software development. But for various task it was still too weak. Maybe the Pi 500 will fill that gab once and for all.

Valve may be working on a new kind of Steam Machine

I fear the console marked could be a much tougher front than the handheld marked was as the Steam Deck launched. I hope a Steam Machine 2 could succeed in an ecosystem dominated by PlayStation and XBox.

Needless to say I am super excited to see what Valve is cookin'

Ah ff ... Still New Feature Branch. Will explicit sync ever land in the true "stable" driver series?

*Sad my distro still not packaging nfb driver noises*

Valve's new branding guidelines hint at Steam Deck's SteamOS for more devices

It would be really funny to see if some of the Windows Handheld Manufacturers will opt-in for Steam OS instead of running Win11 and their custom (crappy) UIs on-top of it.

New Steam Controller 2 and VR controller designs got leaked
27 Nov 2024 at 8:24 pm UTC

I don't buy that these leaks are "accidental" I mean show me one thing by Valve which didn't leaked. If I remember correctly even the Steam Deck "leaked" before and there where speculation about new Steam Controllers or a new Steam Machine as well. Correct me if I am wrong please.

I guess if someone know than it is Liam
