Quoting: ScooptaThe word Optimize seems to be unknown to the Ark developers.Quoting: evergreenok, I don’t like games like this, but I bought it to support feral and to test vulkan. yahoooooo!!!Why would they need to? The game already runs on Linux and is arguably more native then their ports. It isn't very well optimized and has some bugs but that's just ark on all platforms
ps. any hope feral can put hands on Ark survival evolved?

Seeing this announcement spurred me on to actually play the first game & finish the main storyline, I'm now ready for the next chapter, so bring it on Feral! :D
ps I'm not buying it till I see an official release announcement from Feral, I've made that mistake in the past.

Quoting: g000hWondering what current Ark: Survival Evolved linux gamers think of it? I notice in the Steam sale it is at 67% discount, which is pretty decent. Tempted, but I have reservations due to issues with the Linux version, and not sure if the game play is decent or not. Any one want to comment? When it works it's an amazing looking game & well worth the money, there's just no guarantee it'll work from update to update.

Am I the only one who thinks everything is a little bit clearer on Steam today? The Fonts have increased in size for me just a little & it's great, please tell me I'm not imagining it.

Quoting: tuubiDoes it work if you launch steam from the terminal with "GDK_SCALE=2 steam"? If yes, paste your Exec line here and I'll try to help you further. That works, remind me not to do that again though, It's horrible on my monitor. :D

Quoting: tuubiI had to look into the Solus steam package, and indeed the .desktop file includes several desktop actions. Just do a search-and-replace for "Exec=" -> "Exec=GDK_SCALE=2 " in your text editor. That should to the trick. But remember to edit the copy in .local so it isn't overridden by steam updates and so that it can be reverted easily. Not sure what I did wrong, but I followed your instructions & Steam wouldn't start at all for me, reverted the changes & steam is back, guess I can't have the new toy.

It reminds me a lot of Mark of the Ninja [External Link] & Shadow Blade: Reload [External Link], both good games too & should tide you over till Dead Cells arrives. Mark of the Ninja is also available on GOG for those that prefer DRM free over Steam.

I'd say it's easier to trick anti-cheat systems on Windows than any other OS because there are tons of Windows only tools that are specifically designed to do just that, they don't exist on Linux because no-one has bothered to make them....yet.
