Why would they need to? The game already runs on Linux and is arguably more native then their ports. It isn't very well optimized and has some bugs but that's just ark on all platforms

The word Optimize seems to be unknown to the Ark developers.

Seeing this announcement spurred me on to actually play the first game & finish the main storyline, I'm now ready for the next chapter, so bring it on Feral! :D

ps I'm not buying it till I see an official release announcement from Feral, I've made that mistake in the past.

When it works it's an amazing looking game & well worth the money, there's just no guarantee it'll work from update to update.

But remember to edit the copy in .local so it isn't overridden by steam updates and so that it can be reverted easily.

Not sure what I did wrong, but I followed your instructions & Steam wouldn't start at all for me, reverted the changes & steam is back, guess I can't have the new toy.

It reminds me a lot of Mark of the Ninja [External Link] & Shadow Blade: Reload [External Link], both good games too & should tide you over till Dead Cells arrives. Mark of the Ninja is also available on GOG for those that prefer DRM free over Steam.

I'd say it's easier to trick anti-cheat systems on Windows than any other OS because there are tons of Windows only tools that are specifically designed to do just that, they don't exist on Linux because no-one has bothered to make them....yet.
