Quoting: KlaasI still don't know what's going on. Is it single player or multiplayer? If multiplayer – coop or last man standing or whatever?
There seems to be a Dedicated Server option, so yes, multiplayer

Is it... safe to download the Citra forks? I feel like that's asking trouble from Nintendo

Popular FPS Fallen Aces gets Steam Deck support in the latest update

This is the one time I'd say a game has earned the Verified rating. Playing it on my friend's Deck, the game has gone from 20 FPS with frame drops to a near stable 90 FPS.

Fantastic work from the developer.

Microsoft Windows kernel changes don't suddenly mean big things for Linux gaming
16 Sep 2024 at 6:01 pm UTC

Quoting: LungDragoAs far as I know, kernel anti-cheat is ineffective even on Windows, so I'm not sure what the devs are complaining about and what they are smoking.
I think Riot Games just put out a blog post on how Vanguard, their kernel level anti cheat, is helping to keep the cheating down.

Bazzite Linux gets keyboard-less installation (good for handhelds) and smaller updates

I'm using the Bazzite NVIDIA image, and so far, no complaints. I've recently got a Quest 2 for my birthday, so I might test out VR on this distro too, but I'm thinking it might not end well with the state of SteamVR on Linux and all.

The biggest issue I've faced was Firefox crashing repeatedly, but that was due to a bug on Firefox, not from Bazzite itself.

The second biggest is that, since it's an immutable distro, a lot of Linux fixes you can find online just don't work. Like I tried out a community WiFi driver and all of the steps threw an error. So there's that.

Other than that, no complaints. It's been smooth sailing, and I think I'll stick with it. I actually like how snappy it is in comparison to Windows 10. I kept a dual boot partition of that OS, and I haven't had to boot it at all, except for updates.

Correct me if I'm wrong but but that no longer appears to be true. At least, not since May of 2022.
I should have specified better: Bazzite doesn't support NVIDIA and Steam Gaming Mode. Selecting NVIDIA on their website says that Steam Gaming Mode does not support NVIDIA as of now.

GOG confirm Resident Evil 2 re-release date for August

Quoting: ToddLNow, I'm thinking of building a PC to use one of the SteamOS variants like Bazzite, ChimeraOS, etc.
I wanted to try out Bazzite, but NVIDIA still doesn't support Gamescope, so I'm stuck between choosing Bazzite Desktop Edition and Linux Mint.

Godot Engine 4.3 is out now with huge new features and a fancy release page

More Wayland improvements on Linux but still opt-in.
Just to be clear, this isn't just "Wayland improvements". Godot now natively supports Wayland! (Though, it is experimental)

Oooh, that's so great for Godot! I wonder if they're going to start developing more benchmark projects, now that Godot's reached a more stable foundation.
