Unrailed 2: Back on Track arrives in Early Access for more co-op chaos

It's interesting that the devs haven't released Native Linux support yet, considering Godot's notoriously great at it.

Half-Life 3 fan game Project Borealis: Prologue gets a Steam page - due out soon

Guys, Source 2 wasn't even released when Project Borealis started development. UE4 and Unity were the only engines you could really use at the time. Godot had only just released, so nobody had any experience with it.

They're only switching to UE5 now, just so that they can stay ahead on engine updates and stability.

Game development takes a long time. I know people here have issues with Unreal Engine, but at least don't immediately shut them down the moment you hear about it

Quoting: ShmerlThat's not an answer really. Just feels like running around the issue. Why can't they release it on GOG?
From the developers:
In short - as long as the game is in EA it won't come on GOG because maintaining a game on different store takes up time and resources, something many indie developers doesn't have a lot of (many devs say the same thing actually).

It's AFTER the EA period that's in question whether or not it will. Most likely, at least the devs wants it, it just depends on GOG. Or rather, it did in the beginning. There's a thread on GOG if you want more background.

But yes, the game is DRM free already so it only depends on who you want the 30% share to go to; Steam now, or, wait until next year if it comes to GOG then, maybe.

Quoting: Purple Library Guythere used to be a point to the Dvorak keyboard
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the DVORAK layout even speed typing up significantly? I'm sure nobody's been able to prove that it does yet, and if it does, I'm not sure it's worth the short term muscle memory loss.

Bazzite updated to Fedora 41 with expanded PC gaming handheld support

I am really enjoying Bazzite Desktop Edition so far, even with my NVIDIA GPU. I have a few issues here and there (Firefox has to run in XWayland mode, otherwise it just doesn't boot up sometimes), but nothing like what I experienced on Windows.

Actually, I haven't used Windows in ages. I should probably get rid of that dual boot partition soon...

Quoting: whizseStill, I would love to see four player splitscreen using four keyboards and mice some day. Pure pandemonium!
I actually did that once, back when I was still on Windows. I used Nucleus Coop to play Content Warning with 4 players split across two monitors.

The trick is get those keyboards that have mouse pads built into them. They're not great for anything requiring fast reflexes, but for a game like Content Warning, it's good enough and we all enjoyed it.

That said, I do agree with neolith here in that multiple gamepad support is better.

Quoting: neolithWhile I agree in general I must say the game looks like it's made to be controlled with MKB – I am not sure how many people would play it via local co-op...
Controllers have always been inferior to keyboards and mice as a control scheme, so I'm willing to accept worse controller support as long as a game at least has some.

Also, if the project is using SDL, like most are, then you can receive inputs from multiple keyboards and mice individually.

One more time, developers: please add local coop. :(

Even 2 player coop is good enough.

Deadlock from Valve gets 6 new experimental heroes and new stylized rendering of heroes

The game runs like trash on my mid-range PC, and I don't think that's a good thing for any competitive multiplayer game ever. That said, I am using an NVIDIA GPU, so maybe I should see whether other people are facing similar issues.
