The latest 'Steam Client Beta Update' fixes wired Steam Controller support on Linux

this explains a lot, wasn't sure why it wasn't working at all. I even started dual booting ubuntu and arch just to see if I was missing something. I just vaguely remember that it stopped working after the most recent firmware update.

Civilization VI for Linux is no longer certain, only a possibility

i agree, it was the port of Civ5 that got me to go 100% Linux. it would be really disappointing to not see a port at some point. after civ 3 I've just waited for the expansions to come out before purchasing the latest version. But I'd be willing to make an exception for Civ6 if we get to see an early port. at the least, hopefully by the time a couple expansions come out we get to see a Linux port.

The Steam Hardware Survey for September 2016 shows Linux has grown some more

at least it does show the overall growth of mac and linux vs windows. although tiny numbers at least it's a positive. hope to see one day entire percentage points, even a 1 to 2% jump would be amazing.

Just a heads up, Saints Row: The Third on Linux has broken co-op play
30 Sep 2016 at 10:19 am UTC Likes: 2

that is a bummer, because out of all the games Saint's Row games SR3 was the most fun to me when I was able to play co-op. Hopefully co-op works for the other Saint's Row games. especially SR4, since it is essentially SR3 but with a huge game mod.
Since you gain Matrix like powers in SR4 it kind of kills some of the fun of having to use vehicles, which was were a lot of laughs were had in SR3. nothing like accidentally ejecting from an aircraft as the pilot while you leave your friend in passenger seat, flying at supersonic speeds.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, Chaos Rising and Retribution released for Linux, port report and thoughts

This has to be oddest situation I've ever seen on Steam.
because I purchased the THQ Complete Pack - Winter sale 2012. Which had most if not all THQ games at the time, which included Saint's Row 2 as well as the WH40k games. When the port of Saint's Row 2, 3 and 4 was done, I was able to install and play SR2 perfectly fine.
But it would seem the WH40k games are unable to install at all. Considering THQ no longer exists, this has to be handled between Feral and Sega.
Which Feral Interactive is graciously assisting with.

This has to be the most awkward situation for Feral. hope all goes well for anyone else dealing with this situation.

Quoting: edddeduckferalYou should contact Feral we're the Linux publishers our support team can't help you if you email the Windows publisher as our team has no direct access to Windows support :-)
Support request sent :)
At least there are DLCs for retribution I don't have. I'll be sure to grab some as a way of saying thanks.

Quoting: lucifertdarkAm I the only one who has the missing executable error for Retribution?
No. The game doesn't download for me either. I just end up with an empty folder, even after verifying the game cache. "Missing executable" error each time I try to launch it. Hope it's fixed soon.

I'm on Debian Jessie, and the base game and Chasos Rising kept crashing on me too until I did the libasound.so* hack. So it's not just Arch affected by that problem.
if you purchased the game when THQ still owned these games then your game key is not authorized for a Linux install. this was explained on the previous page by edddeduck_feral. you'll need to call or send an email support request through Feral Interactive in order to get it fixed, if this is the case with you as well.

Quoting: doctorxgetting missing executable... folder is blank... *sigh*
Sounds like you have a THQ windows key. Contact support and we can get your details and keep you updated.

For anyone reading who is concerned this doesn't effect anyone buying a Linux key (or most recently purchased Windows keys) it only effects people with some of the original THQ keys.

Cheers,

Edwin
oh ok, thank you, this explains my problem then :) should I contact Feral Interactive or Sega? (i've just submitted a support request with Sega)
