If Nintendo was to adopt this officially and sell you an official copy of the Rom that you can use with this I'm pretty sure many people will, but no, they think by not providing official support that you'll actually go buy a Wii or something to play this! They are soooo wrong.
@sarmad
This has been their MO for the longest time, where they want you to buy the real hardware and cartridge to play their games instead of emulators and ports. Also, they would rather you pay for their less than stellar ports at full price over projects that can do their games justice.

I'm amazed the lawyer snakes from big ol N haven't attacked this yet. Looks like a cool project though.
@R Daneel Olivaw
I don't think Big N has a case with this port since it's not like they providing the ROM you need to make this work or asking for donations like what happened with Yuzu.

Linux shoots back up the Steam Survey for March 2025 with Simplified Chinese dropping

My guess is CachyOS/Other. You could look into Steam client => help => system information, I'd guess they use the same source there?
@Eike
I did what you mentioned and it turns out that it shows up as CachyOS :smile:

Hollow Knight: Silksong lives and it's releasing in 2025

So will this be a timed exclusive switch2 game? 2025 date is confusing because steam still has no date at all and just says "Planned Release Date: To be announced"
@R Daneel Olivaw
I hope not because with the way Nintendo has been pricing their games for Switch 2, it'd be terrible to have it stuck on a $449 system when it should be available on as many platforms as possible.

Linux shoots back up the Steam Survey for March 2025 with Simplified Chinese dropping

Since I've put together a new PC and installed CachyOS on it, if I ever get a Steam survey and submit it, would that mean the OS is categorized as Arch Linux 64 bit or Other?

The EchoPatch to modernize F.E.A.R. adds in gamepad support

I'll have to give this mod a try since I haven't played F.E.A.R in a long time and never was good with the KB+M when I bought a copy of it a long time ago.

Discord wants developers to stick it inside their games with a new SDK
18 Mar 2025 at 3:06 pm UTC Likes: 9

Enough with "sticking" these types of SDKs into games because it makes things worse, especially if a service like Discord ever goes defunct and the game can't function without it because game developers aren't around/care to remove it or go out of business.

I hope Valve are watching closely with Microsoft working towards an Xbox Handheld

From the way I see this, the Windows handheld devices already exist and this is them being a bit late to the party, as usual.

No matter what UI they use, they'll continue to annoy the users with ads and other crap because they already do that on the Xbox side. Add AI into this and you'll have a bunch of people running away from this device.

The Microsoft Store is nowhere near the level of Steam when it comes to games but of course, they offer other pieces of software that aren't game related. If they couldn't compete with Steam with their store then, what makes anyone think it'd be any different now?

As for Game Pass, that side of the business isn't growing as fast as they would like and they already raised their prices on it, which isn't even that attractive anymore but this what happens when they acquire Activision and Bethesda for $80 billion combined while needing some way to make back the profit for it. Even with this new handheld, why should I buy it when I could go with a Lenovo Legion Go or ASUS ROG Ally that already has Windows installed with the Game Pass software?

Xbox Cloud Gaming can be used on many devices including Steam Deck and while it's great for those that like cloud gaming, not everyone has a fast connection to take advantage of it. I don't see this as a large enough threat to Steam or Steam Deck.

Overall, unless MS can give a good reason why people should use their handheld device over the other Windows handheld devices, they're going to have a hard time standing out. Until then, Valve will continue to do the work they're doing right now with Steam, SteamOS and any other hardware they have in the pipeline.

Control Ultimate Edition is adding HDR, ultrawide, FOV scaling, updated DLSS and DLAA

I disagree. Yes, they made some shitty business decisions and it already started with Alan Wake as an Xbox exclusive. Then they decided to get Epic exklusive and even killed the retail version for Alan Wake 2.
@Strapinski
While that was true at the time, Remedy ended up making physical copies of Alan Wake 2 available for purchase on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

AMD confirm Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D price and release date

Honestly I could have probably got by with a 5800x3D but those are hard to find these days.
@HendrinMckay
You can still find some at Aliexpress but they're pricey. However, your best bet right now is the 5700X3D but it's too bad it performs slightly slower than the 5800X3D.
