I hope Valve are watching closely with Microsoft working towards an Xbox Handheld

We will have to wait and see what they deliver. It could be a good competitor, but being Microsoft I have doubts they will make a product with the attractive and openness of the Deck. On the other hand, Game Pass has a huge drag, so yeah, could hit the Steam Deck hard.

Death Stranding 2 has a new trailer and PS5 release date - hopefully a PC release isn't far off

As always happens with Kojima, the trailer looks AWESOME... but I already spent 60+ hours on the first game, so this time I know what to expect. The first game has a great story, environment and sound design... but story is really badly told (you spent 50+ hours without knowing anything and they shove everything down your throat on the final 3 ones). And worst of all, it had a really boring (but somehow addictive!) game loop.

When the reviews are out, if things are the same as with the first game, I think I'll just stick to the "youtube version" with all the cinematics, skipping the boring gameplay.

We still have to see independent benchmarks to see the frames per buck numbers, but I suspect they will not be a high improvement over what NVIDIA offers (at least if we consider the MSRP of their cards and not the crazy numbers the scalpers are requesting). They had a huge opportunity to gain some much needed market share by taking advantage of all the problems and bad press with the NVIDIA RTX 5000 launch. But that would have also required an aggressive pricing, and that is not happening, unfortunately.

Oh, really cool idea, it kinda works as shaders indeed!

Stellar Blade to be optimized for the Steam Deck and other "UMPC environments"

Lately, each time I read "X game will be optimized for Steam Deck", it ends up in a half assed FSR support and a 30 FPS experience. Hope it's different this time.

Game looks awesome. But I have not forgotten how Marty Stratton treated Mick Gordon and why his music will not be in this game.

There have always been similar solutions to the "I would like having some info on a secondary small screen" problem. For example I remember using like 20 years ago a PSP as secondary screen to keep Thunderbird always opened there.

Not the best performance in the world, but quite impressive anyway considering the little board it's running in. We will see with Raspberry Pi 6

Half-Life 3 fan game Project Borealis: Prologue gets a Steam page - due out soon

Valve is usually nicer than the average game developer (see Black Mesa), but maybe this is a bit too much. Would not surprise me if they get a C&D soon.

Sure it's going well for them: Denuvo even on small, cheap, old indie titles like Scott Pilgrim vs The World (so they don't lose a penny from piracy) and no unfair Steam cut, so they must be doing piles of money!

What? They are almost bankrupt? Unimaginable!
