Talos Principle & Serious Sam 3 getting Vulkan updates, Serious Sam 4 will be on a much improved engine
27 Jan 2016 at 12:14 pm UTC

That was the question I had in my mind.

Even if game engines offer Vulkan support as a feature that doesn't mean the games that use this particular engine with auto benefit from this feature, right?

My assumption was that the game would have to be somewhat rewritten (at least good part of it) in order to use that new feature that per se seemed like a good reason not to enable vulkan on already released games (more work with almost no return).

Does this news show that my assumption was totally wrong? If it does... I've never been so happy to be wrong in my life.

The Mean Greens - Plastic Warfare, a beautiful Unreal Engine toy soldier game looking for Linux testers

I've seen some gameplay and IMO this game is looking good and it has personality (not a copy paste of everything else).

Unfortunately this genre is rough it's competitors, so I hope they do good.

@Kwaadpepper

I see your points.

Apple still a part of Kronos Group though.
Could it still be compatible?

Maybe Apple refused Vulkan as the main focus, since adopting another's companies solution would be too much for them it seems.

Sword Coast Legends RPG Released For Linux, Some Initial Thoughts

Don't get me wrong the game looks fun, and it probably is.

What I don't like is the way they hyped the game to D&D fans, which mostly don't like the actual genre this game fits in.

The worst case IMO is the fans that came from NWN...
NWN brought a full toolset (aurora) that was so powerful that the player could do almost anything with it (stories, whole persistent worlds - mmo like - etc.).
If you compare NWN with this game, Sword Coast will look shallow and too action focused.

This game is like a Gauntlet with a Game Master and D&D rules.
I'll pass.

Still waiting for a NWN successor.

Hopefully Shards Online fit that need.

The Source 2 Powered Dota 2 Reborn Exits Beta, Now Just Standard Dota 2

Quoting: Mountain ManAnd why just a single map? First time I played the game, I thought, "That's cool. Now let's see what other maps there are." I was stunned when I realized that the entire game has one map. That's ridiculous.
Errr....

Well have you notice the "Custom Games" tab in the Screenshot?

Dota2 Reborn now have CUSTOM maps integrated with steam servers. You look for a map, install it and then queue for a match ALL INTEGRATED.

You're just a bit outdated, at least in terms of Dota2 Reborn features.

Obsidian: Developing For Linux Was Not Worth It

I'm with Kimyrielle.

They asked for funding (streach goal) in order to make mac/linux versions. If they got funded there's no reason to complain at all.

If they miscalculated the costs, that's not our fault either.
So, yeah I can't understand their point at all.

That said, I don't think this is a classic "we dont develop cause you don't have user base"
It's more like: "I know you wanna build a Space Station, I gave you some of my trust, but where's the profit on those buildings you are raising..."
