We're getting a Palworld x Terraria crossover, major Palworld update in December

The only one of these games that I've played is Terraria and I'm not really interested in Palworld, but Terraria's crossovers usually entail something interesting. Speaking of crossovers with games that I haven't played, the next update's supposed to have Dead Cells stuff. Did that come out while I wasn't looking?
Not sure what this'll do to the Switch version of Terraria, although it's a game that's ideally played in PC anyway. To be completely honest the Switch was always by least favourite Nintendo console.

Steam Controller 2 is apparently a thing and being 'tooled for a mass production' plus a new VR controller

Well, during my Sonic Frontiers playthrough I was using the Steam Deck as a controller. I streamed the game to it but just looked at my monitor. It brought be back to my Wii U days.
I would be curious to see how a new controller with all the SD's features would work. Knowing Valve it would have great Linux support (unlike the Xbox Series controller I use which won't even show up on my Bluetooth list; works fine wired though). I felt that the Steam Deck's control options were very good, so having that on the desktop with the added bonus of, y'know, actually showing up on my Bluetooth list (admittedly Nintendo's controllers do, but the button layout is different and my brother uses them for the Switch).
Bonus points if someone can get it to work with the MiSTer. A lot of the retro computer cores on there (such as the Amiga) are mouse-focused but I haven't got any spare mice. If it has the dual trackpads from the Steam Deck though then it'll work pretty well for those use cases.

I have absolutely not had a positive experience with Sony accounts. I got a PS3 and tried to sign up for one via Sony's website but it wouldn't even work. I also had to send them a picture of my provisional driving license which was especially irritating after their account system refused to work. Ended up having to borrow my brother-in-law's PSN account just to buy a game. And don't get me started on the process of trying to add funds...
If more games start requiring PSN accounts, it will put me off of buying them unless I can find a mod to remove the login requirement.

I'm still mad that they're doing this. The Mega Drive collection was my introduction to classic Sega.
Linux Mint partners up with Framework, also working on Night Light for Cinnamon desktop

I was a Mint user on my laptop up until a few days ago (decided that I like KDE with Wayland more than Cinnamon and made the jump to Fedora), but when I was using Mint usually ran `redshift -O 1000` twice for a strong night light. Actually, being able to do that is one of the things that I miss from X11.
Also still grumpy with Framework. I ordered a kit from them I while back but it didn't work while the returns process took an unnecessarily long amount of time to get it returned, especially since I really needed a laptop at the time and had waited a very long time for it to arrive. That was on top of the high price of the unit itself. Probably won't go with them again to be honest which really sucks because I absolutely agree with the idea of a repairable, modular laptop.

This reminds me that I need to install wine-staging on my new Fedora installation. Improved Wayland support sounds good because I've basically migrated to using it on all my computers now.
Fedora 41 is out now with plenty of enhancements like easier NVIDIA driver installs

I'm considering the KDE version of Fedora for my main non-gaming laptop actually but I still don't have the means to back my data up. Might have to look for an external hard drive.
SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS released and Steam Deck Verified

Huge Sonic fan here. Since I already own the original Sonic Generations (it works really well on Linux but getting the modloader to work was trial and error), I'm not getting this at launch. Also, Sega's past track record for remasters has been pretty dire: I felt that Origins was a disappointing cashgrab and the less that's said about Colours Ultimate the better. I assumed Shadow Generations was going to be the same deal but with Edgy the Edgelord stapled on to capitalise on the new movie, so I decided that I wouldn't be getting it.
...then it came out and was one of the most critically acclaimed Sonic releases in recent memory. And all the other Sonic fans seem to be enjoying it. Still have no intention of buying it at launch, but I'll definitely look into it if it goes on sale.
Also, there is a new Ys game coming out today and I liked the look of it more. Sorry Sonic, but I have my priorities.

Raspberry Pi launch their own SSDs and SSD Kits, along with SD Cards

Cool, I have an excuse to get another Pi. How well would this work as a (preferably passively cooled) NAS using the highest possible memory configuration? I'd obviously need a bigger NVMe than the ones they sell and it looks like it can take 2242 form factor ones. However, the largest 2242s I can find are 2TB which might not be big enough for if I intend to store something like rsync backups from at least two computers on there (even with compression).
Might also need a heavy duty SD card. I've had multiple Pis destroy their SD cards due to overheating.

I understand that a large part of the price is probably economics of scale, but just under £1400 for a laptop is more than a bit excessive. Especially considering that Nvidia's drivers are pants (speaking as an Nvidia user by the way). With that said, it does have a lot of useful ports. Especially an integrated card reader - I keep losing my USB adapter! It's probably under my computer desk somewhere...
Still holding out for cheap Linux laptops someday. All you really need is a Ryzen 3 APU and unsoldered RAM to get a decent laptop.
