NVIDIA are working towards better support for NVIDIA Optimus on Linux

the best alternative is in my opinion the nvidia-xrun way ( https://github.com/Witko/nvidia-xrun [External Link] ) you just start a secondary X session that fully runs on the nvidia GPU, all the games have 100% gpu power like nvidia prime, but you don't have to logout your current intel session, you don't need to shutdown your current work. The only flaw is that you must switch manually to a secondary terminal (ctrl+alt+Fx) and start your new X session, this cannot be automated.

Overwatch could run really well if shader caching was not stuttering (even after waiting for preload and disk caching), I get 70+fps on high details on a 770GTX when shaders doesn't stutter..

Quoting: UsualDoes this mean that Xbox controllers are finally recognized, or does it still need more work? Sorry not too familiar on wine stuff.
I already play Zelda BOTW with wine-staging 2.21+cemu with an xbox 360 controller without any tweaks, so I think it's compatible for a while..

In "we were here" it's crossplatform. Should be the same here.

Quoting: kidoI really hope that one day the DSC World [External Link] will be ported to Linux. In any case, they have a plan to switch to Vulcan API.
DCS is already in a heavy niche market (military aircraft simulator), and when following the game activity we clearly see they give all their efforts to make as money as possible. Every module is pretty expensive (Incoming F-18 module will cost more than a AAA game). They are not likely to make anything other than windows...

BTW drm's in this game are handled by Starforce if I remember correctly, starfoce doesn't work with linux.

Quoting: ShmerlIt has very bad performance with Mesa on high settings.
Reducing terrain texture while keeping other settings to medium/high should greatly improve performance.

The survival game 'Rust' has come a long way, I've completely changed my mind about it

Quoting: eloThank you for this server, Liam! My partner and I have had so many great moments so far, even met the only guy we kinda sorta trust.

I very much recommend this game, but be prepared to run it on low settings unless you have very up-to-date hardware as the game starts chugging badly on higher settings after a while (seems like vram is very important for it)
VRAM is important indeed. I have seen it go beyond 6GB VRAM @1440p and pretty much all maxed. also System Ram is important. People with 8GB might want to look away from this game as the game starts with 8GB and goes up to 10.2GB after several hours of playing. Haven't had performance issues myself, but i have pretty beefy PC @1440p im around 55-65 fps most of the time, goes up to 70 inside the buildings. @1080p its 80+ constantly
that is with all maxed except high quality bloom off, motion blur off, parallax at 1 out of 2
The game runs correctly in my old hardware (gf 770, i5 4690k, 16GB ram) at @60fps most of the time in medium details.. I say most of the time because sometimes without any reason framerate drops to 20fps where it usually runs at 60. So I reconnect and this fixes framerate.. Strange behavior.
