I make a distinction of "haptic rumble" and "motor rumble," with motor rumble of course referring to rumble of ye olde. I'm not sure that would be a technically correct use of terms, but "haptic rumble" does roll off the tongue better than "rumble emulation."

Quoting: maodzedunThere is a rumble support now, people. Why is nobody talking about this? :)))I know I love it! It's the next evolution: Rumble that doesn't shake your hands all over the place like a Looney Toon hit by a frying pan.

Looks like Evolve might still come to Linux & SteamOS

There would be no more excuse to not build in cross-play. Rocket League lets PC and PS4 players play together. It probably helps RL that it's pretty much designed for controllers though.
Looks like Dota 2 with Vulkan isn't too far away

Quoting: tuubi*unless you have SteamOS installed, then it's just a matter of letting SteamOS update.Quoting: AkonadyWell, when released, how can I use it?You'll need to install a driver with Vulkan support for your GPU and a game that makes use of the API. That's all.
I mean, I need download a specific driver/program?
I will need uninstall OpenGL and install Vulkan?
I will need wait the developers of my distro release a update with the Vulkan?
How it's gonna be?
I have GTX 970 and i5 4460.

Finally, more cores do matter.
I'll be getting the best CPU I can in the future. I want advanced AI, AI guided animations and advanced physics. No more AI derps, no more indestructible objects (hopefully).
I'm also interested in graphics scaling with asymmetric graphics modules. Vulkan has this as well as DX12, so SLI and Crossfire should become redundant with newer titles. Nvidia would be wise to have their graphics scale with graphics processing of Intel and AMD CPUs.

Until they do the same for AMD, CCHTML has flawless command line instructions I've installed and uninstalled beta drivers without flaw, was also able to go back to jockey-gtk just fine thanks to that website. I'm still a newbie at terminal, but never had any other website produced working, simple, legible instructions. If you need to find out how to manually install AMD drivers and you ignore my advice after reading this, then you're hopeless, so get on with it or wait until Ubuntu gives AMD cards the same love!

Brushfire Games On Their Linux Sales For Shipwreck & Their Thoughts On Linux

...How about: You can throw anyone a curve ball.
?
You will find people who are of course more qualified, but they don't know everything you and I might know (not that I know the first thing about programming or QA testing). But, they don't know everything they're dealing with when it's not expected to be so programming related or it's not what they're used to.
Developers are coming from static environments and this developer is concerned over Linux's dynamic and all the variations it can bring.
Legitimate concern? ...IDK, but he cited his concerns and maybe he just needs some simple answers cleared.
TL;DR: Maybe the developer has a small roadblock. That's what it sounds like to me.

Quoting: BeamboomI do not mean this as an insult to anyone, but I seriously thought developers in general were a lot more geeky than this, and didn't really see it as much of a challenge to set up a system and do the required research while doing so.I'd explain this, but I don't know how to put it nicely for every reader.
I mean, I don't doubt this guy, he's very likely right in what he say (it's really well confirmed by other devs by the lack of basic QA testing) but seriously, he sound like your average, low competence consumer with this Mac ease of use attitude.
I just always thought they were more like us...

I'd like to see an Nvidia version of this, but I'm having my doubts that Nvidia has an x86 SoC in the works.
You know Intel could do it though. They already have everything this device could use.
