Feral Interactive Are Teasing Us, Again

The upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider is XBox exclusive (at least for quite some time) and the current one is already available for Mac and, thus, does not fit the hint related to an unannounced Linux and Mac port.

Quoting: KeyrockHmm, don't think it has anything to do with Tomb Raider.Quoting: NyamiouThat was easy. There is a book called "1001: Video Games You Must Play Before You Die", on the back cover there is Lara Croft. It's a Tomb Raider!!!The reboot? Ugh. I mean it would be a great get for Linux as it's a big name game and very popular, but I hated that game with a passion.

Just tried this game, but it alwas crashes on start with
Any ideas?
It's an update ArchLinux system with
xserver 1.17.2
Catalsyt 15.7
awesome WM.
I saw an old similar bug report with NVidia so this seems
not related to AMD.
Portal 2 runs fine, btw.
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 42 (X_SetInputFocus)
Serial number of failed request: 1638
Current serial number in output stream: 1640Any ideas?

Alien: Isolation Looks Like It's Coming To Linux, Oh God, Don't Make Me Play It
9 Jul 2015 at 6:07 pm UTC
I bought the base Alien Isolation many months ago - on Windows.
Never expected that game to come to Linux, tbh.
Now, who gets the money for the season pass when I buy it on Linux once it is released?
Will it go to the porting company or is it somehow tied to the where the money of the base game went?
Obviously the question only makes sense if it is not ported inhouse.

Quoting: MGOidI got it for free when I bought my R9 290. If this turn out to be a good port, I will buy the season pass to support the people porting it.Question:

I second all other posts stating they love those developer articles lately.
Great!
Yes, I'm upset if a developer only supports "Nvidia".
However, this is only because there is no further
information WHY AMD Catalyst is not supported.
I guess, the detailed answer is often missing hiding
behind the usual "Catalyst is bad, slow, yadda, yadda".
Why not posting information about the actual issue?
Make a blog post, whatever.
This should not take too much time, really.
Maybe even here at GoL. ;)
But - imho - this is potentially damn interesting.
Furthermore, it might put more pressure on AMD.
In particular if it is an issue shared among different
AAA developers.
TL;DR
I won't start a riot if you state "AMD not supported".
But please be more transparent about the issues.
It's interesting and probably helpful.
Great!
Quoting: liamdaweSadly, when a developer does state they only support say "Nvidia" you then get the AMD camp claiming the developer is rubbish or something.I can only speak for myself, ofc...

Snakebird is great and challenging.
TIS-100 is a true gem.
Releases like them let me keep the faith in gaming.
AAA games not so much, tbh.

Project Cars 2 Announced With Linux Support
24 Jun 2015 at 9:31 am UTC
Don't even think they care about SteamOS until then, let alone other Linux users.

Quoting: NyamiouI fully agree. When developers talk SteamOS, they actually mean the full package: SteamOS+Steam Machines.Quoting: FraaarghAny due date ?The developers on Project Cars don't really care about Linux, they only care about Steam OS which will come out on November, they have plenty of time.

Valve's OpenVR SDK supports 32-/64-bit targets:

I tend to say don't worry.
After all, we don't actually know much about that HTC guy Jeff Gattis.
OTOH, if some of the editors have good contacts to Valve, it might be
interesting to hear from them if Gattis' statement is also valid for Valve. :D
