Some thoughts on the Shadowrun series
24 Jan 2017 at 1:37 pm UTC

Strange no mention of Baldur's gate?
I feel shadowrun is trying to do the same as what Baldur's gate did for AD&D.
Shadowrun is good but you can't beat the AD&D rules.

Witcher 3 is the best game I have ever played and should be on linux.

Yep, and this is the one I'll be buying.
Reasons being, it's cheaper, works with the PS4, will eventually work with Linux (some one WILL write a driver), and has 1080@60fps.
Yeah me too. Great reviews, comfiest headset for glasses wearers. Best lenses too apparently.
I'm sure Sony will deliver some top notch games, not something I can say for valve.
Also I don't have the living room space, or cash for a vive, although I do hope it succeeds on linux eventually.

Quoting: STiATI do. It does not run well on my setup (I7 with 770 GTX and 8 GB RAM, stuttering, frame drops etc.).

And ye, I own it anyway, but I can't enjoy playing it.
I have the same setup, same issues :(

A reason for poor performance on AMD plus Mesa has been found and a patch is in progress

I've been burnt by spending serious money on AMD cards before only to find they are not properly supported. Both on windows and on linux. I'll stick with NVidia thanks. It doesn't mean I don't like or support open source software.

This pre-alpha video of BATTLETECH looks quite amazing

SC Controller, the open source driver and GUI for the Steam Controller is making lovely progress

My (landline) Phone has rechargeable AA batteries in and that has no problems charging them. You could include rechargeable batteries in the price of the steam machine (what £2?). This should not be an issue.
Honestly, if I had known it didn't charge the battery I probably wouldn't have bought the steam controller.
It's a design flaw.

Heavy Gear Assault now on Linux, some thoughts after testing it

I remember playing the original Heavy Gear 1997 game on windows (I know) which was pretty good for its time. I'll keep my eye on this one.
