Embark confirm "Duo prioritized matchmaking" for ARC Raiders and lowered store prices

Bought the game yesterday through Fanatical, though I had to regularly try to checkout for over 24 hours until I could buy it. Unsurprisingly, game keys are in high demand for the game.

Linux gamers on Steam finally cross over the 3% mark

I'm glad that the Steam Deck only makes up a fraction of the userbase.
Once marketshare is high enough for more multiplayer games, it makes limiting support just to the Steam Deck hardware much less viable. That is definitely a risk as seen with games like Delta Force.
But if the trend continues, they'll have to support a wide range of hardware and distros.
Let's keep climbing.

Ghost of Tsushima gets Steam Deck Verified as the devs push the multiplayer into a DLC

It's not like the overlay gets used in many games but it's very confusing why it's an issue in the first place. I doubt they actively block Linux with it.
Does it use a niche Windows feature or something? If it ever gets supported, I would love to know what the issue was.

NVIDIA DLSS support in progress for NVK, the open source Vulkan driver for NVIDIA GPUs
15 Oct 2025 at 10:15 am UTC Likes: 3

This is probably the single most important thing that NVK needs to be a viable option as a driver alternative.
Nvidia exclusive features are a big reason why people buy those GPUs and DLSS in particular has been a huge advantage over AMD until FSR4(and even then DLSS still has the edge).

It's obviously still far off but the fact you can use those features on open source drivers without explicit support from Nvidia is fantastic. In the future we might have drivers in the kernel like the AMD ones with most RTX features and we won't need to wait for Nvidia to address issues (like the DX12 performance regressions).

This is huge for Nvidia usage on Linux and one of the major things SteamOS needs for an official public release.

That didn't last long - Blue Protocol: Star Resonance anti-cheat causing problems on Linux

From what I remember, it does dedicated hardware checks for the Steam Deck CPU and SteamOS.
While both are probably possible to fake, you run into the risk of getting banned whenever the anti-cheat gets updated.
Unless it's officially supported by the devs, it's better to just treat it as inaccessible under Linux.

ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally up for pre-order to take on the Steam Deck

At least the high end one is better priced than comparable handhelds but I can already see the confusion from people when their "Xbox" device is just a Windows handheld with a fullscreen app slapped on top.

Maybe they still have enough brand recognition to pull it off but this whole thing just feels so confusing.

Pick up some goodies from Remedy like Alan Wake and Control in this Humble Bundle
22 Sep 2025 at 2:15 pm UTC

That's a really good deal but I want to mention that I couldn't get the DLC for Alan Wake II to work when I played it earlier this year. The game tries to check for the DLC ingame and fails with an Internet connection error.
That was with Heroic Launcher. I can't remember if I tried the Epic launcher with Proton. I had to use Windows to play the DLC.
Base game worked absolutely fine though and performed slightly better under Linux for me.

AMDVLK has been discontinued as AMD are throwing their "full support" behind RADV

So, surely this means AMD will help with the performance gap regarding raytracing, riiight?

Cronos: The New Dawn releases today - Steam Deck Verified with Linux support

The native Linux version sadly does not support Ray Tracing, dlss, fsr or xess like the Windows version does.
From what I remember XESS never got a Linux release. Just a Windows DLL. The other things are baffling though. Trying to make a proper Linux version is appreciated. But it should at least be comparable to the Windows version.
Also, I wish Valve forced Proton on games with bad/unsupported Linux versions. It can give a bad impression when some games perform horribly just because it runs the worse version.

New Valve trademark for 'Steam Frame', looks like we're getting new hardware

My Index is still going strong, so I probably won't get one until mine breaks.
However, I would welcome VR improvements on Linux that will probably be made with the release.
I still have an external SSD with Windows 10 almost exclusively for VR. Though with ending support approaching, I should look into making it work with Linux soon. I had severe issues with audio.
