Being seamless is definitely important, though wayland does seem pretty stable at this point?
I'm in a situation at the moment where my dad, who is in his 70s, has an old laptop
Windows 10 dropping support and tbh it runs awful on his laptop ANYWAY, when I tried linux mint on a usb drive it was night and day difference
He bought an ssd that I want to install linux on but I do worry about any issues he'll have at his age and I won't be around to help him troubleshoot
I'm going to put mint on it over ubuntu as it's alot better in terms of ease of use and stability imo

My ubuntu machine I have hooked up to a vga 1280x768 monitor but on anything other then gnome or ubuntu on xorg I get "out of range" on the monitor
Really need to figure out why that is if its going to become a problem
If anyone can elaborate for me, that the 'gnome' option on the login screen is gnome on wayland and should be fine for future OS upgrades?

Pretty cool, good way to advertise good mods that some people might not be aware of
In terms of doom 3 I'd rather stick to the dhewm3 build with native linux
Just downloaded phobos mod from moddb to try, sadly couldn't seem to get it working with dhewm3 :(

Other then that it works great

If I recall there's been some cases of game devs focused on proton but also only for steam deck which is my only worry
I've ran into issues with native linux ports but also some run just fine. The most annoying ones for me are the native ports refusing to run due to requiring old and deprecated libs

Solo and co-op? That sounds great, I loved playing TF2 many moons ago but it's extremely rare I play online MP anymore
I'm guessing the hacker/cheater problem with the official tf2 is doing okay nowadays

Heroic Launcher for Epic, GOG, Amazon games on Linux / SteamOS v2.17 released

Ah I didn't realise it was so complex, I like using the ui to launch my non-digital pc games and gog games, makes sense I guess when I look at the features for gog like cloud saves and gog galaxy stuff.. shame gog ignores linux when it comes to their official client
I did try to work around this by making a steam shortcut and adding the shortcut as a game on Heroic, which worked initially but then the shortcuts stopped working
I know I could just use steam, just that on some of the older systems I use it feels somewhat sluggish compared to the more simple UI on heroic
Thanks for the explanation!

Does anyone know if they plan to add steam support, as in launch my steam games directly from heroics UI
Sometimes I want to use heroic launcher as my main games launcher but haven't found a reliable way to get my steam library on there
