Quoting: GuestThis is a false analogy. Visual Studio doesn't become part of your application or in fact is most of your application as is the case for this game and Unity3d. The Linux kernel also works perfectly fine without the non-Free firmwares, so again false analogy.Quoting: Julius"Open-Source"... to a very limited extent since it uses the Unity3D engine. No, it is not like that. I can use Visual Studio or any other IDE's proprietary vesion and use it to make FOSS applications. It has nothing to do with the builder's license.
You might want to change the head-line as "Free and Open Source" usually refers to FOSS, and this isn't FOSS at all. Even the assets are under a restrictive NC license.
Even Linux kernel included many proprietary stuff. That doesn’t mean that the whole kernel is now proprietary.

I hope game developers will realize what a racket EOS is and rather use a fully open-source and store independent option like Nakama: https://github.com/heroiclabs/nakama [External Link]

Quoting: tfkSeriously, read them yourself. Nothing in the licensing of the qt community edition prevents commercial use. Your are completly out of date with your FUD.Quoting: Julius"qt is fully FOSS. It just *also* has a commercial edition."Quoting: tfkTake KDE plasma for instance. The KDE team built it on top of Telerik's Qt. That one is open source as long as your application is free of charge. When you want to go commercial then you have to pay for a license. Not exactly OSS but it works for the KDE team. This is outdated by around two decades. What rock have you been living under? qt is fully FOSS. It just *also* has a commercial edition.
And sure some Unity projects might be able to recycle this script code, but that doesn't make the game itself open-source. The engine is by far the largest part of the game and it is not even shared-source like the Unreal engine.
Hahaha 😆 yeah sure Juli. Go read some licenses first before you come up with non-arguments.

Quoting: Liam DaweYou can argue about the assets, but the code is to 90% non-FOSS as it uses the Unity3D engine. There is no way this code can be used without it, so the game really does not qualify as FOSS.Quoting: Julius"Open-Source"... to a very limited extent since it uses the Unity3D engine.I disagree. Code under a FOSS license is still FOSS. This also applies to the assets, we say happily things like OpenMW and OpenRA are FOSS but they also need proprietary assets. One part not being FOSS doesn’t mean the part that is FOSS suddenly isn’t.

Awesome, then I need to try it again in VR. Previously the VR experience was very much lacking resulting in me never seriously trying this game.
Now the same needs to be done for Subnautica, which is also a very much subpar VR experience.

I wonder if they still plan to make the long rumoured AM4 5600 X3D. Would be sure nice for a cost efficient upgrade on AM4 systems.
