Fedora 41 is out now with plenty of enhancements like easier NVIDIA driver installs

Iguess I'm the only newcomer to Linux who picked Fedora and never looked elsewhere, I think I downloaded codecs at one point just to follow what everyone else is doing, but I don't remember ever having an issue prior to when I randomly thought of installing them.

I'd say Fedora is perfect for newbies who aren't afraid of their devices and don't mind "learning" the OS that they'll be using all the time. Dsitros that "just work" and tolerate tech illiteracy and laziness also have their place of course, it's cool that we have both options.

Steam games will now need to fully disclose kernel-level anti-cheat on store pages

Great news. Hopefully this starts a similar "game contains Denuvo" sentiment from Steam users (on Linux or otherwise), so that it slowly builds more disliking to the concept on a wide scale, not just Linux players.

I was thinking the same thing about getting a console-style mini PC for some time after owning the Steam Deck for a couple of years and recently decided to purchase a PC that was small enough to fit a low profile GPU because I wanted to play games that the Steam Deck struggled to run. That PC will end up using Bazzite on it since I hear good things about it even though I know that ChimeraOS and Nobara exist.

I have a Deck and a dock too, but the resolution doesn't look great on TV and the Steam Deck is struggling with some games. So my idea is to build something more powerful, but still a small one.
Any mini PC recommendations? I'm looking for ready-made a little box, so not looking to build my own pc.

Quoting: ShadowXeldronI'm considering the KDE version of Fedora for my main non-gaming laptop actually but I still don't have the means to back my data up. Might have to look for an external hard drive.
If atomic variants aren't an issue, I highly recommend Kinoite, it's been great running on my work laptop.

Steam Beta adds plenty of Game Recording improvements plus a Steam Play update

The recent beta made the steam UI too big, and I don't know how to scale it down, haven't really bothered to check so far to be fair.

With Kinoite on my work laptop being such a delightful experience, if for whatever reason I have to reinstall Fedora on my gaming setup, I'll do Bazzite. Atomic for the win!

Subnautica 2 arrives in Early Access in 2025 with 4 player co-op
18 Oct 2024 at 2:54 pm UTC

Subnautica wasn't one of those where I would say "this needed a sequel", not sure what else they can do here, especially with Below Zero being not really worthwhile. Co-op could be cool, but I think one of the first game's biggest strengths is the isolation and lonely nature, though since it looks like multiplayer is a big focus here, it could be interesting.

Not really interested.

Quoting: PyrateDoes anyone know if 6.2 will make it to the Fedora 41 release? Love KDE Plasma.
Update, Fedora 40 already has Plasma 6.2
Oh yeah, I checked the Fedora KDE SIG about this yesterday and learned as much. These guys are on fire.
