I set a root passwd on the Deck ages ago, then forgot it, and this trick saved my ass. Having to reinstall the whole OS, then all the games + apps just because you forgot the password is not fun. Kudos to who discovered this!

So apparently they removed both the EA App and Denuvo? The store page says you only need to agree to the EULA now.

Being a lifelong fan of the Sims, this is quite a surprise. However I will not touch this with a 10 foot pole until they take off this ridiculous DRM and account requirement. I'm not gonna jump through hoops to play 25 or 20 year old games that i already have anyways on physical disc, Jesus

Of course, right after I order an expensive custom computer from a boutique builder with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a 4080 Super. My new build that I won't even receive for another 2 or so weeks is now out of date already. Oh well, at least it will be fully repairable and upgradable in the future to newer stuff, unlike my old computer that died last month, which was a godawful HP Omen that was proprietary garbage that I was given during the pandemic.Your computer is NOT suddenly "out of date" just because something new releases. The 9800x3d is still the best gaming CPU and will last you for years. The dual-CCD 99x3d are likely to be worse just like last-gen for gaming so not a big loss. And 4080 Super is a great card with superior raster and RT performance

In my opinion, Apple can never be be the future of gaming thanks to its 'walled garden' approach and because they change CPU architecture about as often as I change clothes. Many games that used to work don't any more because they were built for Intel Macs, and before that, PowerPC
