This is very cool news :)
I have to admit that flatpak seems much easier to use now than when it first came out. And due to that I no longer have much of an opinion as to which universal distribution model becomes the dominant one :)

I agree, this was a pretty fun game. I played it through a few times to take different paths. Yes, the combat is a little annoying from time to time, but can be fun too. I sank about 10 hours into the game, but I don't spend much time in most games, so that shouldn't mean much from me. Actually, the fact that it kept me in the game for 10 hours says quite a bit. :)

GameCube and Wii emulator Dolphin drops D3D12 in favour of Vulkan

With that said, dropping D3D12 (rather, not adopting it in the first place) makes a lot of sense for pretty much any multi-platform, but single purpose, engine.

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionIf you're the kind to see the thumbnail before reading the title, this post had very a different inference at quick glance.Agreed, it looks like link is "dropping" Vulkan :D

Steam Direct, the self-publishing system on Steam will cost developers $100, Curators getting an update too

It should probably be stated that the fee is "per game". If I'm not mistaken, originally wasn't it going to be a one time fee per developer?

Awesome news!
I bought the Witcher 2 back when it first came out on Linux and the performance was pretty dreadful so I stopped playing it. I started playing it again just last night and it has improved sooo much to the point that I don't notice any issues. I've played most of the other VP ports as well (Spec Ops, DiRT Showdown, Saints Row IV, etc) and they have gotten their eOn technology to work super well. Until I went and looked just now, I completely forgot they ported the Saints Row games even though I played SR IV for about 35 hours. It seems like it's been a while since we got any big news from VP, so I'm happy these guys are still making ports for Linux! :)

Quoting: GuestInteresting, at the 29:11 mark in the Feral Interactive presentation: GRID is going to be ported to Android on Vulkan, so maybe we'll see the same on Linux? My favorite part is starting just a few seconds before that at about 28:54 where they said (not shockingly) they plan to start using Vulkan for pretty much all of their Linux ports. He does say under his breath, "some maybe not", but that's understandable depending on the game.

I like the look of the game. I'd definitely love to see more games published using the Godot engine, including probably even some 3D games after Godot 3 is out since it has the new PBR renderer. :)
