Ehhhh, if there was enough money at stake, they'd find a way. Arrangements would be made.
Yet how is money supposed to be at stake?
It isn't now, that's why I said "if there was".
But, like, if say the Steam Deck sold 20 million units and at least one competing streaming service was a first class citizen on it, and the success of the Steam Deck had in one way or another goosed a rise in normal desktop Linux to say 5% (AKA about as big as Mac), other streaming services would be thinking hey, we're probably missing out quite a few customers.

Huh. I thought ivoler would just be for people who use the iVole, a sort of Apple-branded mouse you use with your elbow.

I don't doubt it. I just feel like when not just the computers, not just the screens and other peripherals, but the wires connecting them need firmware updates, it gives me doubts about the direction our technology is going, you know?

I am thinking about what a dock is and thinking "Why does it even need firmware?"

Just out of curiosity, what's your definition of serious? Games looks can deceive a bit. Cute looking game can be deadly serious.
I have never seen and can't even fathom a cutesy platformer or even a sprite game to be "deadly serious"
Come to that, is there such a thing as a "deadly serious" game? I mean, say there's bodies and gore splattering everywhere. It's still not fundamentally different from kids playing war with squirt guns.

No more Steam Deck reservation queue — buy it now, plus Docking Station available

Everyone's talking about the dock, but I think it's pretty significant that we've reached the new stage with the deck itself, where people can just buy it instead of signing up for a waiting list. I do think that there are people who don't have that "Oooh, sign up and wait eagerly" enthusiasm who might buy now. It is also now possible to impulse-buy a Steam Deck. Or to buy one for somebody's birthday or anniversary with some confidence that it might arrive at the time you want it to.
It is also now possible to talk coherently about things like monthly sales figures and whatnot. Well, if Valve ever tells us any of the information.
