Confirmed - Electronic Arts (EA) sold off to investors including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund

I will not be purchasing any more games from them. I will keep my EA account to play the games I already own, which are just my BioWare games, and my old Command and Conquer games, but they will not receive any more money from me, including whatever Mass Effect 5 is or was going to be. This is simply disgusting on so many levels.

Mala Petaka is another action-packed GZDoom boomer shooter now on Steam

Yeah. I agree to disagree. I don't see why it matters that there have been some hits on Steam, and I'm only speaking from my perspective. Anyway, it's in your best interest as a gaming news site that they and all games keep coming, so I can see why you'd be all for that. Though maybe that's a problem too. The number of games released in general constantly is also tiring. I don't know; maybe I'm just getting burned out overall. Life is exhausting.

I'm saying all this as someone who grew up playing games like Doom and Duke Nukem 3D in the 1990s, but I am feeling really exhausted with these kinds of games. There are just too many of them coming out all the time, and many of them blur together for me. It feels as though everyone needs to create their own 90s shooter. I think the genre could use a break for a while.

Ugh, Aspyr. My hopes for this just plummeted. This should have been done by Nightdive. I agree that the Steam forums are a mess. It's a serious cesspit of some of the worst people I've ever encountered. It's honestly shocking that Valve lets it be like that. They should just shut it down, IMO.

Steam UK users will now need a credit card to access mature content due to the Online Safety Act

Wonder how long the UK government will keep this running. What happens if money becomes tight or the Tories take power again?

The law has been passed by the Torries.
Ohh. Didn't know that.

Blending classic Disney style animation with horror, Bye Sweet Carole releases in October

It does look almost exactly like classic Disney animation. I hope they can't go after them or anything. Added this to my Steam wish list.

This whole thing is one big mess. I hate that politicians, who have no idea what they are doing, put these in place without consulting with people who do know what they are doing. Glad I don't live in the UK. I swear, if I were one of these companies, I’d have just pulled out of doing business with the UK. If enough of them had, then the government would have had to fold and make significant changes or repeal it and find a better way to protect kids.
