Rise of the Tomb Raider will release for Linux this month

Great! Although, I hope it's released with a little bit of a sale, given that I just bought "Ruiner" and I was planning to buy some special edition of "PoE2" in the early days of May. Not to mention that I just bought a new mobo, new ryzen cpu and 16gb of stinking expensive ram.

Guess it's noodles for dinner for a while. ;)

RUINER is now in Beta for Linux, it's also an early unlock in the new Humble Monthly

Thanks for the heads-up! I've never looked into this before either, as historical wargames are usually not so much my thing (with a few exceptions). However, your description does make it sound interesting!

Quoting: GuestCan't really afford it but think I'm going to pick it up regardless,
Well, the first 13 to comment in their announcement on steam gets a key for free. So, if money is tight you might get lucky if you act quickly! ^_^

EDIT: Or possibly they will pick 13 winners out of the commenters based on some kind of criteria. "-We will choose the lucky 13, by selecting only good Puppies ;)"

Valve confirms their continued support for Linux gaming

"other Linux initiatives in the pipe that we're not quite ready to talk about yet", this statement did sound quite hopeful to me. However, the follow up "SteamOS will continue to be our medium to deliver these improvements", made things quite a bit less exciting for me.

I was hoping for something more directly related to getting more existing games ported to linux or getting more developers committed to releasing linux versions of upcoming aaa-titles. Well...at least something vaguely related to those things but this sounds more like various software-improvements that may not have any actual impact on the above things at all.

Hope I'm dead wrong about this of course. ;)

Cool! It's about time that one of all these "coming-to-linux-soon" games without a specified release date, actually arrive.

This looks very interesting, so it'll be a purchase right away.

I've played it for roughly 16 hours now and I have had plenty of fun with it. It really feels much like you'd expect "Fallout 3" to feel, if Bethesda hadn't taken over the franchise. There's already a lot to do and the basic game feels solid enough to recommend, even in it's unfinished state.

However, there are locations that only have an "In Development" sign on them, or that have lots of structures and scenery but no characters and the main adventure is not completable yet. They have promised to keep releasing new content even after the release and given what they have produced this far, I feel that this game is on the right tracks.

Space combat game EVERSPACE should have a proper Linux release soon

Quoting: ShmerlHopefully we'll see GOG release once it's out. Does it offer some exploration missions too, or it's about combat only?
Sort of, there are missions where you are supposed to search for and scan various life-forms. There's also a fair bit of exploration involved in gathering resources for manufacturing weapons/shields/devices as well as searching through ship wrecks for stashes that contain valuable loot.

However, combat is very much the main focus of the game.

I was quite worried about this project for some time, that it would turn out to be yet another campaign that promised so much only to fade away into nothing. Yet, with what they have shown now the game looks pretty awsome!

Furthermore, if you check the kickstarter page and all the stuff they are aiming to do & include in the game, this seems to be shaping up to be a real top-contender where upcoming titles are concerned! :D

BATTLETECH to launch in April, Linux version will be 2-3 months behind

Damned annoying for me, I really hate "Late May-->Late August", when it comes to game-launches. Often too much sunlight unless you completly darken the room, too much warmth to use my preffered room/location for gaming and very often travel, visiting guests and other things that makes time for gaming quite limited.

So in practise, this more than likely means a 5 months delay for me. :-(
